Cate Emma Warren, Editor-in-Chief of Eagle Nation Times

Cate Emma Warren is a senior who started in Prosper ISD in 2019. She is a HOSA officer, on the Prosper Theatre officer board, a part of the lacrosse team, and is a Girl Scout. Cate Emma loves photography because she believes it helps to tell a story. She hopes later on people will look at her work and see her passion for that. She is excited to be first ever Print Editor-in-Chief this school year and work on staff for the fourth year.

Every person in ENO has learned the importance of the truth, of authenticity and owning your own work, Warren said. I hope that ENT can continue to be an outlet for students, journalists, teachers, administrators and people of Prosper to find that sense of truth. Cheering on Cedric while he fights a dragon, the Puffs represent their house while wearing their house colors. Junior Haven Sherman portrays Xavia Jones in the play. Ive enjoyed working with everybody and making close connections and friends in Puffs, Sherman said. This experience will help me in the future by helping me explore new characters that I play.

One of the goals of OBNY their December meeting focused on raising awareness of Men’s mental health and beginning a lifestyle of normalizing it.

During a rendition of the opera singing game, senior Chris Tamez, sophomore Averie Grace Benson and junior Titus Boyd sing with their given prompt - a gender reveal party. All three are also in the varsity musical class. I like being improv because as somebody who has English as their second language, improv gives me the opportunity to be more spontaneous when speaking or acting, Tamez said. It helps me in my daily life and in becoming more fluent in English.

Currently in the Varsity Elite Acting class, this is freshman Addyson Smiths first year in Prosper Theatre. She traveled to the Texas Thespians Festival over Thanksgiving break and advanced to Nationals with her group in the Group Acting event. Smith also performed in the UIL One Act Play Cagebirds at Rushing Middle School last year.

Acting in her first fall play with the department, sophomore Luckie Cormier is currently enrolled in Varsity Acting and JV Musical Theatre Production. She is also a member of the Improv team, the Chuckle Clucks. Cormiers first role was in the Madagascar Jr. Musical in seventh grade at the American School in Japan.

Typically working in the booth or backstage, this is senior Gabe Torres first full-length play as an actor. He is enrolled in Varsity Tech and Directing classes, and this is his 4th year in department. Torres worked as an ASM for Les Misérables and was the stage manager for Queens.

In line with her teammates, senior Talonette captain Kaley Carr holds her poms in her hands. Carr has been on the Talonettes since she was a freshman. Something I would tell my freshman self is to not stress because you cant control every little thing, Carr said. Talonettes has helped me realize that I dont have to worry about that stuff. I can really put my trust in others.

Les Misérables will be senior Austin Roses 15th show in the department. Previous roles Rose has portrayed include, Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Nights Dream, The Fool in Queens, and Eddie in Mamma Mia! Everyone in the show has grown so much, Rose said. They are all so talented and audiences will love getting to see and hear them.

This is sophomore Averie Grace Bensons first year as an officer in the theatre department. She is currently enrolled in Varsity Elite Acting, Varsity Musical, and Directing classes. Benson has been doing theatre for 10 years and has been involved in many productions in the area. One of her favorite past roles that she has played is Amy in Little Women.

After starting in Theatre I her freshman year, senior Lauren Grammer is now the president of Prosper Theatre for this school year. Some of the previous roles Grammer has played are Scar in The Lion King Jr., Anne Boleyn in Queens, and Abigail Williams in The Crucible. She also won an All Star Cast award for her performance as Abigail in the District UIL One Act Play Competition.

As they gaze into space, senior Cooper Smith, sophomore Luckie Cormier and freshman Nathan Phillips ride their rocket ship in the game Movie Trailer. Smith and Philips are both in the upcoming Les Misérables production and Cormier plays Mrs. Peacock in Clue. I feel like I am learning a lot about being an actor, Phillips said. Its really fun.

Some of senior Marissa Denmans previous roles include Trix the Aviatrix in The Drowsy Chaperone, Judge Hathorne in The Crucible, and Rafiki in The Lion King Jr. Denman is currently enrolled in Varsity Elite Production, Varsity Musical Theatre, the Acapella Choir, and Chamber Choir. She has been in theatre for five years and choir for eight.

As part of the song Live in Living Color from Catch Me If You Can, sophomore Aiden Hansen holds his arm out high as he sings his solo. Hansen will play Marius in the upcoming production Les Misérables. I learned valuable leadership skills, and how to lead my cast through choreographing one of the group numbers for the cabaret, Hansen said. I think people should come see Les Misérables because is a great story about love (as well as) the French Revolution, and it really teaches you a valuable lesson.
