As she continues to jump around the bends of different creative tasks, junior Victoria Byers has entered her first year on Eagle Nation Online. She has a passion for fashion and a mind for mental health. Outside of school, you can find relaxing to music with her mom, practicing band with her drum line, or planning her outfit for tomorrow. Tori said she hopes to expand her knowledge on clothing, creative writing, and others’ lives. She has currently reported on sports photography along with a few stories around school events.

Celebrating their graduation, seniors Nora Ryan and Ava Garretson wave at their families and friends in the bleachers. Ryan plans to attend Sam Houston State University and major in health sciences. She is most proud of being the 2025 UIL state champion in the 800-meter event in track and field.

These bills are part of a larger effort that Texas and other states have undertaken over the past few years to mitigate the harmful effects of social media, and would prohibit people under the age of 18 to have a social media account, and have popular websites and apps to require age verification. "It's more about learning how to use social media in a healthy way." Student Support Counselor Stephanie Clayton said. "Most of us could probably use better boundaries with our screen time." With prom right around the corner, Student Council and students get ready for an unforgettable prom event at the Marriot. The theme this year is "A Night on the Bayou" inspired by Disney movie Princess and the Frog. Prom is set to be Saturday, May 3.

"I truly could not pick between these wonderful ladies no matter how hard I tried," Roan said. "They've done so much for me, whether it was helping me grow as a leader and eventually into a dance officer, being people to put down as references when I applied for a job or being some of the first people to cheer for me after getting the job."

Junior class ring ceremony celebrates educators

Smiling for a photo in the crowd, junior Madelyn Rutledge and Amelia Easley received their respective award and class ring. The ring ceremony began at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. "Coach Easley has encouraged my development in sports medicine alongside my academics," Madelyn Rutledge said. "She has motivated me to step out of my comfort zone and engage with people I do not know that well."

Taking a breath during the Alma Mater, junior Logan Thompson shuts his eyes and sings along to the music as the band plays. The game ended with a score of 42-16 and breaking Plano East's undefeated streak. The next game will be home against the Rock Hill Bluehawks at a game called "Battle Against the Birds," along with a Reynolds night, where eight-grade students in band from Reynolds can come to the game for free and interact with Prosper students in band and color guard.
