Walking stage right for “Spread a Little Sunshine,” Nicole Wolf Gonzalez sings to the audience. On Friday, April 24, Prosper Theatre had their second show for the musical “Pippin.” The department had two other shows on April 22 and April 25.

Upcoming

  • Tuesday, April 28 is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day.
  • Prosper ISD recently released device information for the summer, stating that current ninth, 10th, and 11th-grade students will keep their Chromebook over the summer, but those in 12th grade will have to return all equipment before graduation.
  • This week is staff appreciation week!

  • Prosper Fire Rescue are to open Fire Station 4 with a ceremony on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

  • Prom is Saturday, May 2 with the theme ‘ticket to paradise’ at 7 p.m., located at the Marriot Legacy West in Plano. Information to buy tickets can be found here.
  • The Might Eagle Band is holding a mattress sale fundraiser Sunday, May 3.

Uplifting

  • Class officers for the 2026-2027 school year were officially announced by Student Council! Here are the officers listed below:
    • Class of 2027: Holden McCurry (president), Ryan Zreik (vice president), Kaylin Nally (secretary) and Taylor Russman (historian).
    • Class of 2028: Arvind Kamal (president), Londen Olmos (vice president), Sophie Lee (secretary) and Vipul Bharani (historian).
    • Class of 2029: Maulika Arthuluri Divakar (president), Jaylynn Bustillos (vice president), Vivek Thatikonda (secretary) and Sophia Cruz (historian).
  • The Grace Bridge and Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors food drive has successfully concluded, with their food banks replenishing fully due to the contributions of Prosper ISD.
  • The fifth annual Raising Cane’s fire truck pull raised money for the special education department April 25 at Children’s Health Stadium.
  • Seniors Ruy Liao and Nathan Phillips earned State Runner-up designations at the UIL 6A State Film Festival.

"You don't need me, or a poster or anyone else in this world to tell you that you are indeed. Stronger than you think."

Speaking to a student, PHS Testing Coordinator Courtney Langdon prepares for STAAR testing.Following the altered bell schedule, testing will be over by 2:45. "I make sure everything's ready for the test." Langdon said. "I train all the teachers, get all the rooms ready, get all the materials ready, get all the data ready."
Eagle Brief: April 7 - 10
After a successful catch, junior Katelyn Bergh poses with her rifle at the beginning part of her color guard show. The Prosper Winter Guard went to state, becoming a state finalist and placing seventh. “I was very happy with how it ended,” Bergh said. “I think the majority of our team was. It was some of the best runs we could hope for.”

Caps in the air, the class of 2026 celebrates their final moments as Prosper High School students. 755 students graduated this year. "It's kind of bittersweet," senior Jerrick Jeyasee Kamaraj Christopher said. "Yes, I'm excited to graduate, but I'm going to miss the community here at Prosper. But, there's so many new opportunities that are opening up, so I'm very excited to explore all of that."
Seniors celebrate 2026 graduation
The photos display aspects of senior Trisha Panicker's life, from journalism to debate to spending time with her friends. Panicker will be double majoring in politics and journalism in college. "I want to continue the work I was doing in Prosper, from covering locals to reporting on community events and traditions," Panicker said. "The joy and purpose that this gives me will hopefully motivate my future endeavors during my time in university."
Senior Column: How journalism changed my life
Sketching at a desk, Sapphire Vasquez works on a portrait. Sapphire Vasquez is a substitute teacher for art. "I've enjoyed (the different art) a lot because everybody has a different style, everybody wants different materials," Vasquez said. "They are creating things that they love on top of the things that they probably don't enjoy as much."
Students receive maximum points at VASE art competition
Looking ahead, assistant Jimmy Frideley takes a break from his work as he contemplates his next job, which means leaving Prosper High for the Richland High campus. Frideley has been an AP for the past three years and at PHS for six. He taught social studies and special education before becoming an assistant principal.
Assistant principal focuses career on student advocacy
In a collage of photos, senior Aarushi Rana showcases her highschool memories. Rana has been on the newspaper team for two years. "Journalism has my heart," Rana said. "I have made some of my best memories in this room."

Senior Victoria Byers leads social media posts for Instagram, X (formally known as ‘Twitter’) and Facebook.  This is her second year as a staff member, and she normally reports football games as a Mighty Eagle Band member. As she continues to find more and more creative tasks, clubs and electives, she gets to finalize and lead in band, two clubs, along with joining three new organizations.
