Eagle Brief: April 20 – 25

State testing to occur, prom draws near

Sitting in the hallway, donation bags and boxes lay in front of room 1238. The Stuff The Bus Food Drive occured from April 13-17. They accepted items like oil, canned meat and meals and small bags of sugar and masa.

Upcoming

  • Security checkpoints are stationed at the entrance and exit of Eagle Dr. to check Minga pass and parking stickers during the instructional day.
  • Yearbook distribution will begin May 14 and 15.
  • Algebra 1 STAAR testing will take place on April 21. Check if your class is relocated during testing here.
  • Prom tickets will be on sale until May 1.
  • Prosper Fire Rescue is to open Fire Station Four with a public ceremony on Tuesday, April 28 at 3 p.m.
  • The Region I-6A Academic Meet is to occur April 24-25.
  • Prom is May 2 with the theme being Ticket to Paradise. Buy your tickets here!
  • Senior week starts May 12.

"You can't be scared to stand in the mud of a big story and tell the truth, even if it breaks your heart," Chesky said. "You don't need me, or a poster or anyone else in this world to tell you that you are indeed. Stronger than you think."
Eagle Brief: April 13 - 18
Speaking to a student, PHS Testing Coordinator Courtney Langdon prepares for STAAR testing.Following the altered bell schedule, testing will be over by 2:45. "I make sure everything's ready for the test." Langdon said. "I train all the teachers, get all the rooms ready, get all the materials ready, get all the data ready."
Eagle Brief: April 7 - 10
After a successful catch, junior Katelyn Bergh poses with her rifle at the beginning part of her color guard show. The Prosper Winter Guard went to state, becoming a state finalist and placing seventh. “I was very happy with how it ended,” Bergh said. “I think the majority of our team was. It was some of the best runs we could hope for.”

Caps in the air, the class of 2026 celebrates their final moments as Prosper High School students. 755 students graduated this year. "It's kind of bittersweet," senior Jerrick Jeyasee Kamaraj Christopher said. "Yes, I'm excited to graduate, but I'm going to miss the community here at Prosper. But, there's so many new opportunities that are opening up, so I'm very excited to explore all of that."
Seniors celebrate 2026 graduation
The photos display aspects of senior Trisha Panicker's life, from journalism to debate to spending time with her friends. Panicker will be double majoring in politics and journalism in college. "I want to continue the work I was doing in Prosper, from covering locals to reporting on community events and traditions," Panicker said. "The joy and purpose that this gives me will hopefully motivate my future endeavors during my time in university."
Senior Column: How journalism changed my life
Sketching at a desk, Sapphire Vasquez works on a portrait. Sapphire Vasquez is a substitute teacher for art. "I've enjoyed (the different art) a lot because everybody has a different style, everybody wants different materials," Vasquez said. "They are creating things that they love on top of the things that they probably don't enjoy as much."
Students receive maximum points at VASE art competition
Beaming ahead, assistant Jimmy Frideley takes a break from his work. Frideley has been an AP for the past three years and at PHS for six. He taught social studies and special education before becoming an assistant principal.
Assistant principal focuses career on student advocacy
In a collage of photos, senior Aarushi Rana showcases her highschool memories. Rana has been on the newspaper team for two years. "Journalism has my heart," Rana said. "I have made some of my best memories in this room."

Sophomore Ethan Chatelain is back for his second year of being on the Eagle Nation Online Staff. He is super excited to see how this year will go. He spent all of his life in Texas, but moved to Prosper in 2020. When not writing articles, he is usually hanging out with his friends or making music.
