Isabella Abraham is the Feature/Copy Editor and Editorial Board member for Eagle Nation Online. As a senior, this is her third year on the staff. She discovered her passion for writing and reporting in her freshman Journalism 1 class, and that interest led to competing on the UIL Journalism team. She hopes to inspire readers with her ENO articles, as well as qualify for UIL state this year. A native of New York, she dreams to live in Washington, D.C. and work for the UN.

Gabi plays JV silver hockey for the school – the top tier for the league. The kids on my team struggled a little bit at first with this season especially because I think they saw me a little bit as a threat, Gabi said. Its kind of hard when theres a girl whos older and in some ways better. They just really did not like it. But most other JV teams have at least one girl in the program, so they are usually pretty accepting.

Students can get a glimpse into the various clubs and classes offered at Expo Night Monday, Jan. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. Programs at both Prosper and Rock Hill will be on display. Expo Night allows students to showcase the skills theyve learned in class, senior Morgan Harris said. They also get to interact with and inspire younger students to pursue their interests.

Tis the season to give blood. Students participated in the Carter Blood Care drive Monday, Dec. 2. It has been something I have been doing since I got the chance to, senior Lucas Yumul said. Some people rely on the blood donations (to survive). I think it is important to help the community and give back.

Fashion II class hosted model castings today and Wednesday at 4 p.m. in room 1018. This is the first year the Fashion II class held auditions for models. We first had to think about who we wanted and what we wanted in models, Megan Stelzer, committee member, said. We had to make all the poster to go around the school and choose a date to set it (model casting) up. After that, we  had to set up the room.

The Mighty Eagle Band walks the streets during the 2018 parade. This years event on Wednesday is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. Its just kind of a glimpse of what we do here at Prosper High School, cheer coach Lyndsey Hamlin said. We start lining cars up at 1 p.m. tomorrow and school floats start lining up between 1 and 2:30 p.m.

Freshman Cooper Smith debuted as the leading male role, grouchy former Broadway actor George Hay. “Moon Over Buffalo, a comedic play (Smith) had the vibrato that George had,” Jones said. “He demands your attention. He fits (the role of George Hay) really well. Cooper himself isn’t everything that George is, but he’s able to capture that when necessary. It comes from his voice and how he carries himself.” The show will continue with two performances Oct. 4 and 5 in the blackbox at 6:30 p.m.

New agriculture teacher Joseph Molina joined the Marine Corp at age 19 and served for five years. He was honorably discharged in 2009 as Sergeant E5. It’s not for everybody, Molina said. It’s a lot of work and a lot of mental stress. If youre wired that way, and you can contribute to the Marine Corps, and the Marine Corps can contribute to you, do it. Theres risks involved, mental and physical.

Chuck and Cindy Stuber, along with family and PISD administration, cut the ceremonial ribbon signifying the opening of Stuber Elementary. Ms. Stuber was an active volunteer in the Prosper schools, PISD Communications said. Mr. Stuber was on the school board as board president for many years and was instrumental in moving the focus of Prosper toward the future that prepared us for the growth we are now experiencing. ”

Lawyer Charles Phillips talks to Rod McCalls sixth-period government class. Phillips has practiced law in Collin County for the past 25 years. I will sell my services, but I will not sell my integrity, Phillips said. Phillips doesnt recall all the money hes earned in his career, but he does remember all the thank-you cards hes received. Life is about relationships, and the rest is just stuff, Phillips said. If you care about what you do, and you care about people, you will be successful.

Seniors commit to further academic and athletic careers. A ceremony was held Wednesday, April 17 in the arena. Family and friends joined the athletes afterwards to congratulate them. All of the leaders on all these teams... they are the epitome of what it means to be a Prosper Eagle, coach Nick Sharp said. I am so happy they are all here.

HOSA students and Carter Blood Care will conduct a blood drive today, March 28. All blood donated will be given back to people in the community. Carter is the community blood center,” Carter Blood Care coordinator Sarah Huntsman said. “We service about 90 percent of the local hospitals, and so everything that is donated to Carter stays local within the community.”

Officer Steven Antommarchi and his K-9 partner Kaz visit the ENO newsroom to educate the staff on drug testing. Officer Antommarchi has been with the 3-year-old Belgian Malinois since last July. Anywhere that I am, you can bet that Kaz is there also, Officer Antommarchi said. He’s never too far away.

After hearing the testimonials of previous students who have attended Camp RYLA, Interact Club sponsor Rodney McCall said he encourages juniors to apply to go. Juniors interested in attending Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award), a student leadership training camp, should fill out an application and return it to the counselors offices by Friday, Mar. 8. To get involved with Rotary, students can join the high school version, Interact Club. Returning for their senior year, the students have taken on a variety of leadership roles around our school and around our community, McCall said.

Group members plan to give the blankets for animals at the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals organization. Interact Club is a group dedicated and willing to serve the community, member Bailey Foster said. Our service to animals not only helps them receive the care they need but ultimately find care for life.
