Gabriella Winans was born in Athens, Ohio, and moved to Prosper, Texas in the summer of 2015. A current senior, this is her third year on staff. In her free time, Gabby enjoys writing, reading, watching TV and movies, hanging out with friends and family, and riding horses. She hopes to continue writing throughout high school, with the goal of publishing a novel one day.

Shortly after the events of 9/11, now Special Education Department aide Nicholas Harrington prepares to be deployed to Afghanistan. Harrington joined the U.S. Army just after he graduated high school in 2000. You know, in the army, you train for combat, and you train for battle overseas or enemy forces, but during a time like 9/11, you don’t really know what to expect,” Harrington said. So, it was kind of scary in that aspect, not really knowing what to expect. That was on everyone’s mind, just, you know, family and friends, and the American way of life. It was literally under attack.

To practice her photography skills, junior Paige Hursman takes a photo of the empty cafeteria. Hursman said that shes loved taking pictures since she was little. I am very passionate about photography, Hursman said. I feel that it can allow me to show my true skills and express myself through captures.
