Julia Soomin Chung

Julia Soomin Chung, Executive Design Editor

Julia is a senior at Prosper High School. She was born in South Korea but had lived in Vancouver, Canada, for three years before moving to Prosper in the summer of 2019. This is her second year on staff. She works to improve design elements of each page of the website. Julia designed ENO's nameplate for this year. She is also the Vice President of the National Art Honor Society. Julia hopes to major in graphic design or art therapy. Click HERE to view her portfolio.

Wearing hair nets and gloves to pack food, Prosper National Art Honor Society members Elisa Arbaiza and Bhavini Prasad seal the weighted bags. The volunteers worked in an assembly line to package food, weigh and seal the bags. The global non-profit organization Kids Against Hunger held the event at the First Baptist Church in Celina Saturday, Sep. 25, to send meals to families in the Honduras. The volunteers will be participating at Grace Bridge Food Bank to package meals to support families in local communities Monday, Nov. 15.

When I heard the word cancer – in the same sentence with my name – it stops you in your tracks, Krempin said. And, you start immediately thinking. You start realizing what really becomes important. It made me realize that I need to spend more time with my kids. I needed to spend more time with my friends and family. They needed to know how grateful I was for them and how much I love them. While she looks up at the flowers, senior Soomin Chung rests on a bench at Herb Island in Pochen, South Korea. Over the summer, Chung visited this country, which is where she was born. Due to COVID-19 precautions, South Korea required two weeks of quarantine for anyone entering the country in May. The restrictions have changed for those entering the country who are fully vaccinated. The photo give one view of the location, which hosted various plants and flowers for visitors, as well as offered workshops for soap, perfume, and diffusers that use the scent of different herb plants.

I think the number of hate crimes towards Asians has increased since pandemic because many feel anger towards them for introducing the virus, junior Mina Choe said. Cleaning up the appetizer table after guests leave, Judy Seay, the sponsor teacher of Prosper National Art Honor Society stacks the plates. The induction ceremony was held in the Rock Hill High School cafeteria to provide a larger space for guests. I dont think we had as many opportunities to visit, Seay said of those who attended the Jan. 14 event. Usually I have a lot of conversations with parents and students, and I think because of COVID, we didnt have the opportunity to do that.”
