"It was definitely a cool experience," junior Jacob Piehl said. "It was crazy seeing how quickly the moon came over the sun and how dark everything was." Because a teacher did not need them for English tutorials, students gather Tuesday in the cafeteria for Eagle Time. On Monday, Sept. 11, drafting started, and teachers could begin helping students during this study hall. Students can be drafted on Mondays for Social Studies and Fine Arts, Tuesdays for English, Wednesdays for Science and World Languages, Thursdays for Math and Fridays for CTE.

Competitors spent just about an hour on entries and voted on the top three houses. "I had a lot of fun making my house," Vedder said. "I always watched 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' when I was little, so when we decided to do the competition I knew I wanted to do Snoopy's doghouse."

"Artists are already losing business because of A.I. art generators," said sophomore Jake Radcliffe, who wrote this piece on behalf of the editorial board. "Commissioning a piece of art from an artist can be expensive and time-consuming. On the other hand, using an A.I. to generate art is generally fairly cheap or free and almost instantaneous."

Above the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, sophomore Jake Radcliffe and sixth grader Julia Radcliffe zip over a verdant pine-oak forest. They visited the CLIMB Works Zipline Course in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, to do something they had never done before. "At first, I was pretty afraid of zip lining that high up," Jake said. "But when we actually started going, I had lots of fun — especially when we went upside-down."

Since the recovery from the COVID-19 lockdowns, students have noticed an increase in inappropriate social media accounts. Opinion writer Caleb Audia created this graphic with Canva to show his opinion of the staff of the newspaper. If students find themselves victims of one of these accounts, they can report the it on the Instagram app by clicking on the three dots, selecting the "Report" option, and selecting "Report Account."

"Customers are not purposefully harmful for buying from websites like SHEIN — they've been blindsided," Clark said. This gathering marked one of the many programs created this year to welcome students to the school. "I was really excited about the freshman/new student pep rally because it presented a great opportunity to help students feel welcome and be immersed into the Eagle Nation environment," spirit leader organizer Natalie Merrill said. While she looks up at the flowers, senior Soomin Chung rests on a bench at Herb Island in Pochen, South Korea. Over the summer, Chung visited this country, which is where she was born. Due to COVID-19 precautions, South Korea required two weeks of quarantine for anyone entering the country in May. The restrictions have changed for those entering the country who are fully vaccinated. The photo give one view of the location, which hosted various plants and flowers for visitors, as well as offered workshops for soap, perfume, and diffusers that use the scent of different herb plants.

As it calls attention to those who are celebrating "National School Counseling Week," a board rests in the Upper House. National School Counseling Week occurred from Monday, Feb. 1, to today, Feb. 5. Students can find counselors and assistant principals when they need them in both the Upper and Lower House office complexes. "Students should go out of their way to acknowledge the counselors and thank them for what they do for students," assistant editor Amanda Hare said in the attached editorial. "They often go unappreciated, so students should work to express their gratitude for them today."

Holocaust Remembrance Week is held Jan. 25-27, with special curriculum designed by the district. "In a world where every event is consumed and processed through the internet and social media, teenagers struggle to understand the impact and reality of a horrible event like the Holocaust," editorialist and ENO Editor-in-Chief Grace Williamson said. "In a class discussing the Holocaust, graphic images and videos can be dismissed as a 'scary movie.'"

"I’ve talked to people states away, and it’s allowed me to grow in ways I never expected," Winans said.
