Sydney Washburn grew up in McKinney until moving to Prosper the summer of 2018. Before joining the Eagle Nation Online staff, Sydney was on the newspaper staff at McKinney Boyd High School. Sydney said she is "passionate about photography, writing, history and art."  She loves listening to music and hanging out with her friends and family as much as possible. Mission Work also claims her time. Sydney has been on five mission trips throughout high school and hopes to give her time to serving on an international one after her senior year.

In the attached column, writer Haley Medeiros challenges administrators to reconsider removing Eagle Time from the schedule. Students need Eagle Time in order to maintain at least a small balance between school work, homework and mental health, Medeiros said. If the administration really wants to make time in school more effective, they should shorten the school day, regulate the amount of homework and projects that are given in each class, or just keep the 30-minute study hall.

Im a nurse, and I think not only about the driver but also the passengers and bystanders, medical teacher Shanelle Stewart said. When I was in the hospital, I saw a lot of drunk driving accidents. Logic is completely taken away when alcohol is the situation.

Any student out of dress code will have to either change into Prosper Greens, go to ISS, or will receive out-of-school suspension, Principal John Burdett said. After hearing the testimonials of previous students who have attended Camp RYLA, Interact Club sponsor Rodney McCall said he encourages juniors to apply to go. Juniors interested in attending Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award), a student leadership training camp, should fill out an application and return it to the counselors offices by Friday, Mar. 8. To get involved with Rotary, students can join the high school version, Interact Club. Returning for their senior year, the students have taken on a variety of leadership roles around our school and around our community, McCall said.
