Sydney Washburn grew up in McKinney until moving to Prosper the summer of 2018. Before joining the Eagle Nation Online staff, Sydney was on the newspaper staff at McKinney Boyd High School. Sydney said she is "passionate about photography, writing, history and art."  She loves listening to music and hanging out with her friends and family as much as possible. Mission Work also claims her time. Sydney has been on five mission trips throughout high school and hopes to give her time to serving on an international one after her senior year.

The varsity wrestling team state qualifiers prepare to head to state after being sent off by fellow students and staff. The team has nine state qualifiers competing. The state championship will be held Friday Feb. 22-23, in Cypress, Texas, at the Berry Center.

These students toured campus on Jan. 23. The Rogers students came on Jan. 24. They are given the opportunity to sit in on classes and learn about different electives offered at Prosper. These classes are not for you if you prefer to stay seated, Hamlin said.

The recycling program continues its second year at the high school. Engineering teacher Donald Berliner and special education teacher Logan Bass started the program last year to help clean up the school. Students can help with the program most importantly by paying attention and throwing the correct items in the recycling bins, Bass said. If you have cans or bring drinks in cans, make sure you recycle these so we can earn money for our school.

In todays featured Uplifting Tweet, Rogers Middle School choir director Natalie Joyner shares a collage of pictures from the Thursday evening Show Choir performance. High School director Crystal Chamberlains students, who performed Thursday evening, are featured in the photos. Audiences can still catch one last performance Friday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the PHS Black Box Theatre. Admission is free. Concessions, including a hot cocoa Bar will be sold at the door.

Senior point guard Josh Davis, No. 11, will be honored Friday, Dec. 14, before the home varsity game at about 7:25 p.m. for crossing the 1,000-point mark in his varsity career. Prosper fell to the Bulldogs 64-72 this night, but they won last night, Dec. 4, against Flower Mound Marcus 52-34.
