In the nest, 2023 PHS graduate Caitlyn “Cat” Schurter paints a bookshelf. Shurter attends California Polytechnic University. The nest offers outlets for creativity with the Makerspace that holds resources and technology available to students.

In their Talonettes uniforms, sophomores Abigail McGregor and Katie Lynn stand with the band at the Rockwall football game. McGregor and Lynn sit and play with the band during the game but perform with the Talonettes during halftime. The Prosper football team lost this non-district matchup, 47-41.

As his name is announced, senior Parker Browning celebrates winning homecoming king with his mom Jennifer Browning. Browning won king with senior queen Brianna Marler. Browning is on the varsity football team and Marler is the captain of the Talonettes drill team. More homecoming photos will publish tomorrow, too.

Clapping for her other teammates, senior Kiersi Bradley enters the field as part of the sports medicine program. Bradley is also on the tennis team. The nights event introduced the cross country, football, volleyball, swim and dive, waterpolo, tennis, Talonettes, band and cheer teams.

After being introduced, sophomore Keira Williams, freshman Sienna Acuff, freshman Avery Ringger, freshman Daya Saravanan, junior Adam Chong, senior Eli McWard, senior Jaeda Crabtree, junior Caroline Manning, sophomore Alanys Aviles Barbosa and senior Nolan Heimbuch take a waterpolo team group picture. The team had just come from playing at the Keller tournament. Many of the same seniors and members were reintroduced after walking with the swim and dive team.

Celebrating, sophomore Nicole Steel and freshman Matteo Mejia prepare for the state championship. Both of them have been on the varsity team since their freshman year. This is the first time a PHS tennis team has gone to state in seven years.

Freshman Colton Boston, sophomore Christina Krasnova, junior Coleman Meier and sophomore William Norris hold their award. The audio/video trifecta of Eagle Nation News (ENN), PHS The Talon radio and Eagle Production Group (EPG) brought home multiple awards from the 2023 Student Television Network Conference. The conference was held in Long Beach, California.

Waving, junior Reaves Lo walks with the tennis team. In addition to being a student athlete, Lo has a woodworking business on Etsy called Woodworking by Reaves. I really enjoy the homecoming parade, Lo said. Its a great way to bring together the community and exhibit the different groups and sports of Prosper.

Arms stretched out, the Prosper Talonettes stand in formation in preparation of the game. The eagles won 53-14, scoring a minimum of 1 touchdown per quarter. Playing their first home game against Rockwall, the team will face off today at 7:00 p.m. at Childrens Health Stadium.

Waiting for the ball to hit the racket, freshman Matteo Mejia serves the ball to his opponent. The match today was fun, Mejia said. Even though I didn’t play my best I still had fun, and I think that’s what the best part of tennis is. The best part is knowing that no matter the result you will have fun on the court.

Pictured above is assistant tennis coach Brandon Womack at the Meet the Eagles event. Brandon Womack, Prosper High Schools new assistant tennis coach, has coached tennis full time for 11 years, and the past six at Plano Senior High. “My goals are to help build an athletes character through consistently teaching accountability and integrity to help them realize their purpose,” Womack said. “ (Also), to help them grow to reach their full God-given potential.”
