The Prosper Independent School District contains more than 28,000 students. This school year at Prosper High started with a population of around 3,400 students. “If they hadn’t opened Walnut Grove, we would have had well over 4,400 this year, assistant Principal Dr. Lute Croy said. That was the main purpose, to alleviate the strain.

A new coffee shop in Prosper called Six Sips opened up on Dec. 18. It is run by three sisters and their husbands. Brittany McLeod, one of the sisters and Co-owner said she appreciates how the shop brings her family closer. I love being there, and I love that its something that I did with my sisters, McLeod said. Im just Im so proud of us (and) how far weve come.

Filled with signatures, a banner is displayed in Jaxson Littles hospital room. The banner includes the hashtag #littlestrong which became used by members around Prosper to show their support for Jaxson through social media. Jaxson is number five on Prospers junior varsity basketball team.

The graphic above showcases Laufey Lín Jónsdóttirs newest studio album Bewitched. This collection released on Sept. 8 and includes 14 songs. The instrumentation is much fuller, and the lyrics hit on a more personal level, junior Jake Radclife said in his attached review. Standing next to a display showcasing various herpetological items, Collections Manager Greg Pandelis guides senior Lauren Clayton on a tour of UTAs Amphibian and Reptile Diversity Research Center. This facility holds the largest collection of reptiles and amphibians in Texas. Scientists all over the world gather data from this center and use it for conservation efforts.

Varsity volleyball will play next on Aug. 15 at 6:30 p.m. versus Wakeland at Frisco Wakeland High School.

Varsity tennis will play next on Aug. 15 at 4:00 p.m. versus Wylie at Wylie High School.

Varsity girls water polo will play next on Aug. 15 at 5:30 p.m. versus Hebron at Lewisville ISD Eastside Athletic Center.

Varsity cross country will compete next on Aug. 18 at the Rock Hill Twilight Invitational at Warren Park.

Varsity football will play next on Aug. 25 at 7:00 p.m. versus Euless Trinity at Children’s Health Stadium.

Varsity boys swim and dive will compete next on Sep. 20 at the PISD Tri-Meet at the Prosper ISD Natatorium.

Arms outstretched, junior Faith Tull and sophomore Brooklyn Reeves reach the climax of their performance. The pair performed I Know Where Ive Been from Hairspray. The song is basically about marching for freedom for black people and no more segregation, Tull said. Its really just the characters talking about how there is a plan, that there has been suffering, that there are things that they need to do and that they can do it together.
Theatre students perform songs, monologues, scenes at Cabaret
As he prepares for the game, senior Caden Berg helps out teammate junior Lucas Tauzin with his captain arm band. This is the first playoff game of the season. This season has been very different to other seasons through out mentality and chemistry. Our team comes in to every game fired up and ready to go, Berg said. Last season we came into playoffs thinking we won something already and ended up losing, This season we knew what we had to do and we went out there and did it.

As he jumps onto junior Jai Akash Gopikrishnan Kumudavallis back, junior Ajay Adithyan spends time with his friends at the Indian Student Association Holi celebration. The best part of this is meeting the community and just having fun, Adithyan said. We get to meet up with friends and enjoy cultural activities together.

After golf regionals, sophomore Erica Lee, junior Kendall Simms, freshman Tatum Churchman, freshman London Pearson and junior Sophia Duque present their scores. The team finished fifth and were district champions. Churchman led with a score of 71.

Shaking hands with the diving coach, sophomore Pierce McHam received the Best Diver Award. Some teammates recieved awards for their performance throughout the year as a player and as a teammate. The banquet took place in the community room at Childrens Health Stadium.

Stick extended junior David Androes hustles back on defense. Androes was awarded the WE award after the game. This award is given out to one player after each game, and represents the hard work put in by players and coaches to show the values of Prosper lacrosse.
Boys lacrosse secures win over Dripping Springs
Hand raised, junior Kaden Kado Robardey celebrates a double run for the eagles. Due to assistance from teammate Erick Thompson, Robardey scored one of two runs during the first inning. Robardey played as one of the starting outfielders for the Eagles.

Kaya Miller, originally from Los Angeles, California, moved to Prosper, Texas in 2017. She attends Prosper High School as a senior. This is her third year on staff, and she is co-editor-in-chief of Eagle Nation Online and editor-in-chief of the print newspaper Eagle Nation Times. Miller is on the Prosper debate team as historian. She is also president of the Spanish Honor Society. Miller is also on the Dallas Rowing Club Juniors team. In her free time, she enjoys baking and playing guitar.

Isabel Multer is a junior at Prosper High School and is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is Isabel's second year on Eagle Nation Online, she is part of Eagle Nation News, and she is also on the Prosper lacrosse team. Outside of school, she loves hanging out with friends and family.
