Uplifting

  • PHS Girls Soccer qualified for state.
  • The Boys Golf team wrapped up the District 5-6A Tournament this past week in some tough conditions, the Prosper HS second team, competed their way to a fourth place finish and the first team had an eighth place finish. Even though we didn’t advance to regionals the future is looking up for the young Prosper Team. We were represented with seven sophomores out of the 13 PHS players that competed in the tournament. Sophomore Yunjae Park finished one shot out of the regional qualifier playoff with a two day total of 155 (73-82).
  • Congratulations to the Varsity and JV Girls Track teams for finishing as district runner-ups.
  • Several Boys Track athletes qualified for the area meet. Our Boys JV & Varsity Teams finished 2nd in the Track Meet.
    • Junior Sutton Stewart – High Jump, 6’8, District Champion.
    • Senior Zaden Krempin – Shot Put, 50’4.25″ – 2nd Place – BREAKS 42-YEAR-OLD SCHOOL RECORD
    • Senior Layne Sheely – 800m, 1:54, District Champion
    • Prentice Sanders – 400m, 48.31, District Champion
    • Sophomore Ashton Fletcher – 300mH, 39.81, District Champion
      4x400m Relay – District Champion, 3:17.
(Seniors Kwasi Boamah, Layne Sheely, Remington Martin and Prentice Sanders)
  • Our PHS Archery team competed at the state competition last week and ended up in sixth place out of 66 high schools. This qualifies them for the National Archery Tournament on April 26th-27th. Senior Colin Sweeney finished fifth out of 712 high school boys and senior Maiya Oyakawa finished fifth out of 609 high school girls. For the first time ever, our archery team competed in the 3D tournament and finished 10th place with Oyakawas getting a third-place individual finish. We are so proud of our archers.
  • Dr. Lute Croy was named the Richland High School principal.
  • Nine PISD Bus Drivers competed in the Bus Rodeo this past weekend. Bobby Parker placed third in region 10 and will advance to state.
