The PHS Model UN team is having a fundraiser with Chipotle on Sunday, March 3 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Be sure to tell them you’re from the Prosper MUN team to show your support!

  • New club: Medical Outreach Initiative. There will be a meeting at 4:15 p.m. on Feb. 26 and 8:15 a.m. on Feb. 28.
    • Every month we focus on a different body system
    • Dedicate each medical topic to an activity (ex. Podcast = Procedures, Diseases = Video Animations, etc.)
    • Posts on social media begin with general information and end with how they apply to developing countries
    • Topics that we cover include: Diseases in developing countries + why they aren’t able to solve it/what they lack. Treatments used in developing countries + how they affect the population compared to developed countries. How we can use our resources to help/give developing better access. Our unique approaches and solutions to addressing the issues.
  • The Counselors are finishing up the one on one meetings with the Juniors about their course selections for next year. Sophomores – we will begin your meetings after Spring Break and Freshmen meetings will follow up in April. As a reminder to all 9th, 10th and 11th graders – please check your course selections in Skyward. If you would like to make a change, please use the QR code that is posted on the doors of the Upper and Lower house.

NeuroNext Foundation will be running a stationary and school supply drive. Please bring any extra school supplies like pencils, notebooks, backpacks, etc. in good condition to the following rooms: 2210, 3103, 2245, or 1148. The donation period is from Feb. 20 – April 18. All donations go to special education schools and facilities in the US and India for children in need.

Each year, Prosper ISD gives back to the community for those families in need through Stuff the Bus. This service opportunity provides resources for Grace Bridge and Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors to replenish their food banks. We are asking that you help support this cause by donating items such as Cereal, Sugar 4# Bags, Canned Chicken, Toilet Paper and Toothpaste. Items can be dropped off in The Nest during the week of Feb. 26 – March 1. Let’s all show our support and Stuff the Bus.

  • Senior Vanessa Rolan set a new School Record in the high jump with the win at 5’8”
  • Last week, the Varsity Speech and Debate Team traveled to Melissa, TX, for the National Qualifying Tournament.  Nine students advanced to the National Tournament in June and brought home two sweepstakes trophies in Congressional Debate and Speech Events.

  • PHS Swim and Dive competed at the UIL State Meet. Overall the women placed 48th and the men finished 6th overall at State.

Kaya Miller, originally from Los Angeles, California, moved to Prosper, Texas in 2017. She attends Prosper High School as a senior. This is her third year on staff, and she is co-editor-in-chief of Eagle Nation Online and editor-in-chief of the print newspaper Eagle Nation Times. Miller is on the Prosper debate team as historian. She is also president of the Spanish Honor Society. Miller is also on the Dallas Rowing Club Juniors team. In her free time, she enjoys baking and playing guitar.
