With instruments in hand, the Rushing Concert Band 1 performed their UIL pieces. The middle school Pre-UIL Competition was hosted at Prosper High School. I think we did great, seventh grader Giulianna Galante said. This practice was great, and allowed us to prepare for the real thing.

At the spring Meet the Eagles, senior twins Sydney and James Duvall give each other a fist bump as their names were announced. Both have competed in powerlifting for all four years. “Sydney and James have a very unique relationship,” Coach Brian Thompson said. “They can be at complete dismay and upset with each other, and at other times, they get along great. Ive had to make them stop arguing with each other several times and get on to them like a parent. However the one thing that never changes is the support they have for each other.”

This group of seniors and one junior gathered in the Eagle Nation News studio to record a video for Black history month. Were filming a project for black history month, senior Wenallis Thomas said. Were doing this to support Black lives.

‘Meet the Eagles’ introduces spring athletes

Spring Meet the Eagles will be held 6 p.m. Feb. 3 in the high school arena. The event will honor spring athletes in baseball, wrestling, track, powerlifting, softball, basketball, golf and soccer. The Mighty Eagle Band, Talonettes and the cheer team also will give performances. It is important that we take the time to recognize all of our student athletes, both fall and spring, for all of the hard work that they do, Head football coach Brandon Schmidt said.  It will be an awesome night and I look forward to seeing our coaches and athletes recognized for all that they do.
