  • Prosper High School College Week Jan. 29 – Feb. 2. Over 30 colleges and universities will visit during lunches from 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. each day that week. They will be visiting with students and bringing promotional materials, giveaways and swag. Click here to see what colleges will be showcased. Pin your college location on our giant map.
    • College Week is here. Today is MISSION MONDAY as you begin your mission to explore what college may offer you. Be sure to visit with the college reps today during all lunches. Enter the raffle at our Counselor Table and get down with the ducks at our Wellness Table.
    • College Week is here. Today is TRAVEL TUESDAY as we encourage you to continue your college mission and visit 14 colleges representing 11 different states. Thinking of staying in-state? No Problem. Considering going out-of-state? No Problem. Enter the raffle at our Counselor Table and win some swag this week.
    • College Week is here. Today is SPIN-THE-WHEEL WEDNESDAY at our Counselor Table. Enter the raffle and get down with ducks at our Wellness Table. Visit nine different college and university reps.
    • College Week is here! Today is THINK ABOUT IT THURSDAY as you make or share your vision regarding college goals while learning more about our six represented universities. Today is your final chance to enter the raffle at our Counselor Table – Winners from each grade will be announced Friday during 6th period.
    • College Week is here and it’s the final day. Today is FIND YOUR FIT FRIDAY and we have yet another five schools for you to check out. Thank you for supporting all of our visiting colleges and universities….and for accepting your MISSION to set goals for your future.
  • It’s time to choose your classes for next year. Please check your email for important information about Course Selection. Please make sure you have entered the courses you plan to take next year by the deadline of Jan. 29. The Counselors will be meeting with every student – You will be able to make changes when you meet with your counselor.
  • The counselors are getting lots of requests for meetings about course selection. Remember – they will be meeting with each of you individually soon through English and Social Studies. Counselors request students to please be patient. If you have a question about your courses for next year, please ask the counselors who are on duty during lunch – or on duty before school. They will answer all of your other questions once they meet with you during your course selection meeting.
  • NHS Applications are now open to any student who has a 3.5 overall GPA or higher. Reach out to Ms. Pirovano or Ms. Ballard with any questions.
  • SkillsUSA is collecting donations for Lovepacs. Lovepacs helps provide food for families in need. Currently, they are in need of items such as canned fruits, vegetables, soup, peanut butter and jelly, granola bars, and more. Visit bit.ly/SkillsLovepacs24 or scan the QR code for the full list of needed items. All donations can be dropped off in The Nest with Ms. Riley through Jan. 31.
  • If you will be a junior or senior next year – and would like to have an off period – please ask your parents about an email they received addressing this. In this email will be a link to a form for you to fill out. This form will be required to receive an off period. You may not select off periods in the course selection. Please select electives and if you qualify, the counselors will replace the electives with the off periods.

In this new club, students will learn how to identify a problem in society, will be able to present a product they make and present it to the judges (Sponsor + One Person). The format will be similar to Shark Tank. Students will also learn the fundamentals and basics about Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. Our first meeting will be in 1227 on Monday, February 5 at 4:15 p.m. Please email Raanan Srivastava for more information if you are interested in joining.

Kaya Miller, originally from Los Angeles, California, moved to Prosper, Texas in 2017. She attends Prosper High School as a senior. This is her third year on staff, and she is co-editor-in-chief of Eagle Nation Online and editor-in-chief of the print newspaper Eagle Nation Times. Miller is on the Prosper debate team as historian. She is also president of the Spanish Honor Society. Miller is also on the Dallas Rowing Club Juniors team. In her free time, she enjoys baking and playing guitar.
