At UT Austin, sophomore Kate Pemberton celebrates the bronze medal at the UIL State track meet today. Pemberton competes in pole vault. She completed a new PR of 12 feet.

After golf regionals, sophomore Erica Lee, junior Kendall Simms, freshman Tatum Churchman, freshman London Pearson and junior Sophia Duque present their scores. The team finished fifth and were district champions. Churchman led with a score of 71.

Running toward the ball, sophomore Ava Germany dribbles past her opponent. "It felt great to make it to state," Germany said. "The games leading up were all games that had people biting their nails. It came down to the last minute in every playoff game it felt like. I think the biggest challenge our team faced during state was confidence. Everyone believed in us to win we just had to believe in ourselves and even with the result we got I believe we could have been more confident."

At the Prosper town hall, theatre officers from PHS, RHHS and WGHS stand with Fine Arts Director Tim Doyle and Mayor David Bristol after Theatre in Our Schools was proclaimed Feb. 27. TIOS is a national campaign to promote and spread awareness about the benefits of theatre education. "Theatre in Our Schools Month is important because it raises awareness about the value of theatre education in schools," junior Annabelle Nugent said. "It emphasizes the positive impact performing arts on students, promoting creativity, collaboration, and individuality."

At the Prosper vs. Rockhill game on Jan. 2, head basketball coach Scott Imes performs a speech on sophomore and teammate Jaxson Little. Little is fighting leukemia, and Prosper has supported him with the hashtag #LittleStrong. The first 100 people at the Varsity Girls basketball game, and  the first 150 people at the Varsity Boys basketball game got a #LittleStrong shirt.

Hands raised in front of their faces, juniors Juliana Cruz and Samiya King check the contrast of their skin tones against their suits for a project for their American Sign Language class. The class requires distinct clothing, in order for people to comprehend hand signs. Students at Prosper are able to take the ASL course up to four levels.

As the hallway fills with students, multiple extracurricular groups are sent off to state and national level competitions. The send off on Monday, April 24 featured archery, students competing at state for VASE, FFA teams, and extracurricular athletics teams. Percussion students led the sendoff.

Monday, April 17, a sendoff was held for the robotics team in honor of their advancing to the first Robotics World Championship, which will be held April 19-22 in Houston. 5411 RoboTalons and 9105 TechnoTalons will be competing with the top robotics teams from over 20 countries. This is the first time in PHS history that two teams have qualified for worlds.

Last week SkillsUSA traveled to Corpus Christi to compete at the state competitions. Students competed in Additive Manufacturing and Medical Assisting, and prepared exhibits in 2D/3D Animated Short Film, Web Page Design, Engineering Design, and Health Sciences. The students all won State Superior Awards! Following the awards ceremony of the Winter Guard International (WGI) Tulsa competition, JV and varsity winter guard members take a group photo with their trophies. Teams performed their shows in the competition on March 4, with both trams advancing to finals. The JV placed 3rd in Scholastic Regional A and varsity placed 10th in Scholastic A.
