Upcoming

  • HOSA is hosting their fall blood drive through Carter Blood Care. Donors who are 16 must have parent permission, while donors 17 and older can donate on their own. Seniors will receive an honors cord if they donate twice during the year. Reach out to HOSA sponsor Kelli Factor for any questions.
  • Prosper High School is accepting donations for the “Ship Serves” program through Nov. 18. To accompany the “Ship Serves” day on Nov. 19, a competition will be held among all second period classes to see which class can bring the most non-perishable items from Nov. 5 – 18. Class prizes include first place winning Chick-fil-A, second place winning a pizza party, and third and fourth place winning donuts and snacks.
  • The Prosper High School Dual Credit Information Night will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
  • The neon-themed pep rally, which is the last one of the year, will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6 during advisory.

  • Thanksgiving break is in three weeks and will start on Nov. 24.
  • Last Friday, students who acquired more than 19 Minga points gathered together during advisory to celebrate their achievements, watching movies, playing games, eating snacks and spending time with their friends.

Over the weekend, the Eagle Band competed in the UIL Area J competition which was ranked 4th in all areas of judging and received 4th place overall. In UIL Area J, only the top 4 advance to state.The band will at state to state on Nov. 2-4. The band's prelims performance was at 5:30 p.m.

As she places the can into the bag, junior Imogen Perez collects food for the theater food drive in Oct. They are collecting items such as canned food, cereal, bread, jelly and any non-perishable foods. Theater is partnering with Nourishing Neighbors to provide for children in need.
Eagle Brief: Oct. 20 - 24
Standing by the finish line, sophomore Taylor Peck cheers for the varsity boys cross country team. Peck is on the varsity girls team and placed first at the Cross Country District 6-6A Meet on Friday, Oct. 10. The boys claimed the title of district champions and the girls placed second, allowing both teams to advance to Regionals.
Eagle Brief: Oct. 13 - 17
Grouped together, Bediz Efecinar Cagle and her students juniors Arjun Sethi, Sophia Buenteo and seniors Declan Vedder, Kaylee Robertson, Rithvik Manchala and Soheil Buchholz celebrate breast cancer awareness by wearing pink. The pink-out pep rally took place on Oct. 3. "I think pink-out today was very phenomenal," Sethi said. "It made us all look like one big family from PHS."
Eagle Brief: Oct. 6 - 10
Hands outstretched, seventh grader Kenzie Tanner presents a gift of recognition to officers Edward Franklin and Samuel Walkiewicz. Behind her, seventh graders Klaire Elgin amd Ivy Reynolds hold a gratitude sign. "This year," Kenan Reynolds said, "we have started an initiative to do good in the community as cheerleaders and students of this great town of Prosper."
Eagle Brief: Sept. 29 - Oct. 3
As the rain pours down onto the concrete, a rolling thunderstorm comes into Prosper this morning, creating traffic issues for students trying to arrive on time. The low today is 74 degrees while later today the high will be 92 degrees with heavy rain until approximately 1 p.m. The weather for the rest of the week will start to cool down with lows in the 50s and 60s.

Demonstrating a step on how to build a water barrel, Texas Water Resources Institute Program Specialist Dean Minchillo leads the Barrel Up workshop that was held at the Prosper library on Oct. 6. Rain barrels are used to capture rainwater for households to use towards watering gardens and rinsing tools. A raffle was held in which the winner got to take home a rain barrel that was made during the workshop.

Up in the air, senior Devin Allen catches a practice throw. The Prosper Eagles are currently fourth in the Division 6A rankings and third in Division 1 rankings. Allen has been a game MVP multiple times throughout the season.
Breaking news: Football game rescheduled to earlier time
Leaning down to pick up trash, children participate in the interactive booth held at the Celebrate Prosper event on Oct. 4. This booth was called "Help Clean Our Waterways" and it is one of the many educational initiatives set up by Water Education Coordinator Lauren Kraus geared towards local residents. The next educational workshop is called "Turn Over a New Leaf: Kids Challenge!" where children will learn sustainable water habits in the Prosper library on Nov. 7 at 11 a.m.
"Let Water Prosper": How the town tackles water conservation
Designed in Canva, the graphic shows one of the values of the 'SHIP' motto. This motto was introduced this year to represent PHS as the "flagship" of the Prosper ISD district. "(As teachers get hired, they) embark on this journey, new staff gain a clear understanding of effective teaching, district and campus expectations, and the resources available to support them," HR director Clint Poole said. "This process ensures that new employees feel informed, prepared and confident as they begin the school year."

The ship represents the Mighty Eagle Band and their past success at the UIL Region 24 competition, with Prosper High School being known as the "flagship" of the town. "Our future is uncertain, yet we remain strong, leading ourselves in our odyssey," senior Micah Hudson said. "Even if the hull of our ship is approaching the end of our journey."

Looking at one of her students as they speak, Delaney Alford sits next to freshman Saanvi Vipin during their Hope Squad period. During this class, the group played the game ‘imposter’ to bond. “I think Hope Squad is such a good class and such a good program to not only teach [mental health awareness] to the kids that are in the class, but also to push that out to any and everybody else,” Alford said. “What better way for people to hear about it than from their peers?”
