Waterpolo takes the win, Homecoming kicks off

Emoting at the endzone, junior Marcus McCoy celebrates a touchdown. At the previous Westlake football game, the Eagles took the win with a 27-22 score. In the second football game of the year, the Eagles took another win against Rockwall Heath with a 45-27 outcome.

Upcoming

  • The honors/AP drop window will be open from Sept. 3-Sept. 16. During this time, students can obtain a drop form from the Upper or Lower House. Keep in mind that students cannot drop down if there is not equivalent on-level course for the subject.
  • Book Club is holding their first meeting Wednesday, Sept. 10 in the Nest!
  • College and Career Night and College 101 Presentation will be held on Sept. 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rock Hill HS. The presentation will be from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the same day. Click here for more information.
  • This week starts the Homecoming court votes! Vote here.
  • Homecoming is coming up soon, the parade with take place Sept. 24 at 6 p.m.
  • Represent your class and school with Color Wars dress up day Sept. 26. The freshman class is representing gray, the sophomore class is representing black, the junior class is representing white and the senior class is representing is green.

Uplifting

  • Our waterpolo teams had overwhelming victories against Walnut HS this last Friday. The girls team won 18-5 and the boys team won 24-5. Congratulations to them for their awesome work!
  • Our varsity football teams had many wins over Rockwall Heath last Thursday. This week is a bye week!

"I've enjoyed (the different art) a lot because everybody has a different style, everybody wants different materials," Vasquez said. "They are creating things that they love on top of the things that they probably don't enjoy as much."
Students receive maximum points at VASE art competition
Made in Canva, the design depicts how the new yearbooks are on the way, and almost ready to be given out to students. The Eagle Yearbook staff worked on the book throughout the whole year. "We sort them into boxes alphabetically," senior Isabella Rodriguez said. "So when someone comes up to the table in the arena foyer, we can just go and find the book super easily."
News Brief: Yearbook distribution days approach
Holding a fire hose to act as a ribbon, Assistant Fire Chief Shaw Eft, Fire Chief Stuart Blasingame, Mayor David Bristol and Town Manager Mario Canizares prepare to officially launch Fire Station 4. The department opened its doors to the public on April 28 at 3 p.m. "If there's a lightning strike, we can get an engine to that site location quicker," Bristol said. "Chief Blasingame is manning the station with a fire engine paramedic crew, so on that engine, it can handle any paramedic need as well as fighting a fire."

As the rain pours down, the water flows down from the dirt to the grass. The storm passed over Prosper High School on April 21 throughout the school day. The rain is expected to last until 3 p.m. on April 21.
A strong twist in the weather
As the sun sets, the orange fades into blue. The sun descended at 7:54 p.m. on Friday, April 10. Rain is expected tomorrow, April 11, starting at 1 p.m.

Caps in the air, the class of 2026 celebrates their final moments as Prosper High School students. 755 students graduated this year. "It's kind of bittersweet," senior Jerrick Jeyasee Kamaraj Christopher said. "Yes, I'm excited to graduate, but I'm going to miss the community here at Prosper. But, there's so many new opportunities that are opening up, so I'm very excited to explore all of that."
Seniors celebrate 2026 graduation
The photos display aspects of senior Trisha Panicker's life, from journalism to debate to spending time with her friends. Panicker will be double majoring in politics and journalism in college. "I want to continue the work I was doing in Prosper, from covering locals to reporting on community events and traditions," Panicker said. "The joy and purpose that this gives me will hopefully motivate my future endeavors during my time in university."
Senior Column: How journalism changed my life
Looking ahead, assistant Jimmy Frideley takes a break from his work as he contemplates his next job, which means leaving Prosper High for the Richland High campus. Frideley has been an AP for the past three years and at PHS for six. He taught social studies and special education before becoming an assistant principal.

In a collage of photos, senior Aarushi Rana showcases her highschool memories. Rana has been on the newspaper team for two years. "Journalism has my heart," Rana said. "I have made some of my best memories in this room."
