At the UIL Banquet on May 2, seniors in UIL take a stand to be recognized. Each competition and those who competed in district and regional meets were honored, as well as those heading to state. The event was held at Children’s Health Stadium at 5:30 pm.

  • Eagle Time this week will be for WILL intervention only – there will be no relocations to the cafeteria today, or for the remainder of the year. Special groups will still relocate to their usual areas this week. Please confirm that the only students leaving your classrooms have a designated “special group” they have attended all year, OR have the official draft email to a teacher for will intervention.

Upcoming

  • Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors must turn in Chromebooks and chargers by the last day of school to prepare them for the upcoming year. If you attend summer school, you may keep your Chromebook and charger over the summer. Seniors turn in Chromebooks on May 15th.  If you have any questions, email technologyhomehelp@prosper-isd.net.
  • The last day for Seniors is Thursday, May 15. Senior activities and senior week will begin on Friday, May 16. Here is a link to the schedule.

Uplifting

  • Prosper High School track teams went down to Austin this past weekend to compete at the state track meet! Here are the results:
    Nora Ryan – STATE CHAMPION in the 800m run, breaking the school record with a time of 2:07.51.
    Justice Story, Ava Whitt, Nora Ryan, and Gloria Granderson – 5th place in the 4x400m relay, SCHOOL RECORD with a time of 3:43.79
    Sutton Stwart – 4th place in the high jump, clearing 6’8″!!!
    Cade Beaton – 9th place in the fastest 100m race recorded in state history!!!
  • Your BASEBALL TEAM beat Flower Mound this past week to advance to 6A D1 Area play! We will take on Lake Highlands @ Frisco HS (Smotherman Field)!

  • ENO has two of its own staff members who participated in region I-6A UIL academics going to state, Jake Radcliffe for copy-editing, and Trisha Panicker for spelling with the spelling team. State will take place on May 19th. These two have worked extra hard to make it to state. If you see them in the hallways please be sure to congratulate them.
  • There’s another senior skip day this Friday, May 9th. Reminder that the skip is not an excused absence!
  • Reminder that Prosper High School seniors will be hosting a ‘senior sunset’ on May 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Frontier Pavillion. Seniors are encouraged to wear something that represents their plans for next year.

Under the lights, Isaiah Johnson returns to one of Trisha Weyenberg's classes since he graduated in 2017. He lives in Kansas City for his job and travels around the country to speak in classrooms. "Don't listen to people, because you can make money and be happy," Romeo said. "And, I could be an example of that. I do what I love." Another seperate article is coming out on Isaiah soon.

One foot in front of the other, senior Hayden Crotts prepares his next play. This is Crotts' fourth year on the soccer team. This was the first district game of the season.

Eagle Brief: May 12 – 16
Cheering in the hallways of PHS, freshman Ali Bray raises her poms high to the drumline's stand tunes. This send off took place on April 24 for many Prosper organizations and teams. These activities included FFA, Unified Track, Prosper Winter Guard, and many more.
Eagle Brief: April 28 – May 2
Working on the final touches for their presentations, seniors Savanna Bleak and Devananda Anoop work on organizing names in folders. This is 2024-2025 PCIS final presentation for future careers. "It's very exciting for what we're doing since it's the last one," Anoop said. "It's also really nerve-racking as well getting prepared."
Eagle Brief: April 22 – 25
The Unified Track and Field Team gathers together after winning Area Championship. This group will advance to the regional meeting Tuesday, April 15, at Waco Midway High School. "This is such an amazing group of students," coach Leslie Wright said in an email about the event. "And, this is allowing for more opportunities for students to be involved in UIL sports." Eagle Brief: April 14 – 18
Passing out candy and stickers to the community are kids from Boyer Elementary at the Hope Walk Event. The event was held on March 29. The community came to walk around the Children's Health Stadium while various Hope Squad groups spread positivity and awareness for suicide prevention.

As they hit the final pose, the senior Talonettes perform the second dance of the day alongside the team. This marked the last contest of the season. The last performance for the Talonettes will be on April 24-26 in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m.

As seniors prepare for the end of their high school careers, students need to finalize paperwork, and testing before they can receive their diplomas. Senior week kicks off with the senior lock in on May 16. Graduation will take place on May 22 at PISD's Children's Health Stadium at 7 p.m.

Preparing to sew, junior Brittanie Green threads the needle through the sewing machine. For her collection, she created a phoenix, mermaid, and fairy look to follow the fashion show's theme of fantasy. "I'm excited," Green said. "I'm excited to see my model just walk down the runway."

With prom right around the corner, Student Council and students get ready for an unforgettable prom event at the Marriot. The theme this year is "A Night on the Bayou" inspired by Disney movie Princess and the Frog. Prom is set to be Saturday, May 3.

Standing behind the podium, Parks Administration Assistant Director Kurt Beilharz presents the Doe Branch Park Master Plan to the Parks and Recreation Committee. Doe Branch is currently in its design stage and is waiting to be approved by the town council. "First we want to identify a design consultant, and we usually hire architecture and engineering firms or landscape architecture firms," Beilharz said. "We get a firm on board, and then we look for public input. Once we have their input, then we put together what's called a concept plan."
Prosper opens new parks to accommodate growing population
Smiling in front of the words "Hakuna Matata," which depicts the Hope Week theme this year, Hope Squad members, sophomores Ella Mattox and Antonella Sposito and freshmen Owen Christiansen and Deylen Agbetuyi volunteer at the Hope Squad booth. Yesterday, sugar cookies prepared by culinary students were sold at all the lunches for two dollars. "I joined (Hope Squad) because it provides an opportunity to help other people," Christiansen said. "And just because it's being surrounded by other nice people."
