Lily Oxley is a sophomore at Prosper High School and this is her first year on Eagle Nation Online. She created a podcast last year called “Something New” and has competed in UIL Feature Writing. In her free time, she enjoys being with her friends and sketching.

Preparing for the upcoming track meet, sprinters warm up on the football field. The next track meet will take place at Lovejoy High School on Friday, April 1. Prosper track is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.

MLK Day occurs yearly on the third Monday of January. This year will mark the holiday's 36th anniversary.

Oxley volunteered to be one of the writers who made certain the online newspaper offered content even through the holidays for readers. "Sophomore year has taught me that other people's opinions of me are not the most important thing to be focused on," Oxley said. "As long as I feel comfortable in my own skin, and I choose to stay confident, I can accomplish anything I set my mind to."

At "Meet the Eagles," junior varsity cheerleading coach Emily Allen, head coach Cameron Jones and freshman coach Mariessa Mesa walk out of the Eagle tunnel as their names are announced. The junior varsity cheer team has students in grades sophomore through senior year. "Team is respect, collaboration, encouragement and support," Allen said. "It doesn't have to be that everyone is best friends, but we all have to learn to respect and collaborate with each other."
