Lily Oxley is a sophomore at Prosper High School and this is her first year on Eagle Nation Online. She created a podcast last year called "Something New" and has competed in UIL Feature Writing. In her free time, she enjoys being with her friends and sketching.

Preparing for the upcoming track meet, sprinters warm up on the football field. The next track meet will take place at Lovejoy High School on Friday, April 1. Prosper track is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.

Richeys idea behind the design is that the colorful background represents the diverse groups of people Martin Luther King Jr. worked to unite through his words, which are featured at the center of the design. MLK Day occurs yearly on the third Monday of January. This year will mark the holidays 36th anniversary.

In the attached column, sophomore Lily Oxley lists her one-word resolution as bold. Oxley volunteered to be one of the writers who made certain the online newspaper offered content even through the holidays for readers. Sophomore year has taught me that other peoples opinions of me are not the most important thing to be focused on, Oxley said. As long as I feel comfortable in my own skin, and I choose to stay confident, I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.

She grew up in the spotlight, skyrocketed her career all based on her talent, and had it all taken away and given to her father, co-writer and senior Alyssa Clark said. It’s unfortunate that anyone had to go through this, and I think Britney’s life will be an example to all on how the impacts of a conservatorship, when used inappropriately or unnecessarily, can hurt.

At Meet the Eagles, junior varsity cheerleading coach Emily Allen, head coach Cameron Jones and freshman coach Mariessa Mesa walk out of the Eagle tunnel as their names are announced. The junior varsity cheer team has students in grades sophomore through senior year. Team is respect, collaboration, encouragement and support, Allen said. It doesnt have to be that everyone is best friends, but we all have to learn to respect and collaborate with each other.

Following the Friday, Sept. 24, pep rally, cheer coaches Cameron Jones, Emily Allen and Mariessa Mesa gather for a photo. Jones coaches the varsity team, Allen focuses on the JV team and this is Mesas first year coaching freshman cheer. “She lets people feel like they’re involved,” Freshman cheerleader Kamie Kline said. “She never lets anyone feel like they don’t have a special role on the team. She makes sure everyone feels important and they have a spot on the team and feel like they made the team for a reason.”

Before this I was in Dallas and before that I was in Orem, Utah, Fogelberg said. Yes I have coached football before officially and I unofficially helped out freshman soccer as well.
