What: Meet the Eagles to introduce the fall athletes and celebrate the senior athletes

When: Saturday Aug. 17 at 7:00 p.m.

Where: Children’s Health Stadium

  • Football will play next against Westlake on Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. at Crusader Stadium
  • Volleyball will play next against Rockwell Heath on Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the PHS Arena
  • Tennis will compete next against Plano East on Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. at Plano East High School
  • Boys Water Polo will play next in the Texas Cup on Aug. 22 at the Lewisville ISD Westside Aquatic Center
  • Girls Water Polo will play next against Highland Park on Aug. 22 at 6 p.m.
  • Cross Country will compete next in the Greenhill Luke’s Locker 6-mile Relay on Aug. 24 at 7:30 a.m. at Norbuck Park

"Us Indians love expressing ourselves through our moves and how we do stuff," sophomore Anish Moilla, president of the Prosper Bollywood Dance Club, said. "So, dance and music is one of our favorite ways to get out there and enjoy ourselves."
Club celebrates holiday, spreads love of South Asian culture
Hand up, American Sign Language teacher Alex Hudson signs to her students. Hudson said she decided to be an ASL teacher in high school when she took an ASL course and fell in love with the language. "It was crazy to me that there was this whole world and culture that I didn't know about," Hudson said. "The deaf community is happening all around us."

As he looks out to the field, Eric Manto prepares to announce the next play. Manto is the official announcer for PISD's Children's Health Stadium. He is also known as 'the voice of Prosper.' Manto announces at every home game including all of the varsity football games for PISD high schools.

Arm extended, girls lacrosse coach Morgan Alexander talks to junior Tara Haines. This is Morgan's first year coaching at Prosper. "I think I found a different appreciation for the game through coaching," Alexander said. "Inspiring young kids now and not being the one playing is a different vibe, but I do love it."

Arms out, senior Tayvin Labbe tackles a Rockwall Heath ball carrier. Labbe was a captain for this game where Prosper defeated Rockwall Heath 49 to 18. "I was really proud of how well as a defense we were able to adapt and adjust to their offense," Labbe said. "All week we were trying to prepare for something we wouldn’t be able to see and I think Friday night we executed and were able to read and react very well."

Football takes close loss in 1st game against Westlake prior to home win
As the color guard performs its routine, junior spirit leader and sophomore Nathanial Crabtree claps to encourage the audience. The spirit leaders usually have a week before the pep rally to officially decide what they want to do at the event. "We figured out Tuesday what we're running through, and then Thursday, we met up for advisory and switched it up," Crabtree said. "We had lots of last minute changes."

One foot in front of the other, senior Leo Anguiano attempts to stop his opponent, and run to the other side of the field. This marks Anguiano's fourth year in the program. The first game will be against Austin Westlake on Aug. 28 at 7 p.m.
Football kicks off season with scrimmage
Capturing the essence of senior year, Talonettes stand together on the baseball field, ready their final year of performing together. The team practiced during the last week of July and went to line camp on July 27 –29. Senior Erica Deutsch leads the Multi-Media section of the newspaper. This is her third year working for Eagle Nation Online. She adores photography and hopes to create a positive impact with her writing and podcasts. She is excited to publish video packages and continue sharing the powerful stories of others. Outside of school, she enjoys playing guitar, watching movies, trying new baking recipes, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
