Shaking hands with the diving coach, sophomore Pierce McHam received the Best Diver Award. Some teammates recieved awards for their performance throughout the year as a player and as a teammate. The banquet took place in the community room at Childrens Health Stadium.

As she reaches forward, junior Duhita Sharma prepares for her next move. PHS Swim and Dive celebrated seniors on Jan. 10. Senior night and the last home meet of the season was hosted at the PISD Natatorium at 4 p.m.

During a triathlon race, senior Eli McWard completes the cycling distance. The order of the races starts with swimming, then biking, then running. A good support team has been the backbone for whenever anything is both going great, but also not going great, McWard said. I think especially through the lows when youre doubting yourself, theyre the ones reminding you – you love this sport, not because of your performances and how well youre doing at races, but because you enjoy waking up every day, and training and pushing yourself to find new limits.

In the PHS gym, senior Courtney Reed gets ready to donate blood. Carter Blood Care works with the HOSA organization to host a blood drive for students today, Nov. 27. Seniors can get an honor cord for graduation if they donate twice – once in the first semester and once in the second semester. There will be another opportunity for 16-year-olds (with a parent-signed form) and 17-year-olds (and older) to donate in the spring. Every blood drive we do saves so many lives, HOSA sponsor and health sciences teacher Kelli Factor said. As you know, there is a massive shortage of blood available, so this really does make a difference for our community. Every pint collected can save up to three lives.

Holding up their awards, senior Jasmine Brown, sophomore Madison Koepp, sophomore Calista Swick, senior Parker Reynolds, senior Kross Nickerson, senior Coleman Meier, junior Isabel Multer, sophomore William Norris, senior Landry Long, sophomore Colton Boston, freshman Dylan Mize, sophomore Nuala Adams, junior Bradston Swick, junior Christina Krasnova, and freshman Mark Carbajal celebrate ENO and its sister journalism program ENN. The teams went to San Antonio for the Fall Fiesta journalism convention. ENO received fourth place in online news.

As his name is announced, senior Parker Browning celebrates winning homecoming king with his mom Jennifer Browning. Browning won king with senior queen Brianna Marler. Browning is on the varsity football team and Marler is the captain of the Talonettes drill team. More homecoming photos will publish tomorrow, too.
