Swim team faces off in meet against Rock Hill, Lovejoy

Looking at one of her students as they speak, Delaney Alford sits next to freshman Saanvi Vipin during their Hope Squad period. During this class, the group played the game ‘imposter’ to bond. “I think Hope Squad is such a good class and such a good program to not only teach [mental health awareness] to the kids that are in the class, but also to push that out to any and everybody else,” Alford said. “What better way for people to hear about it than from their peers?”

Beyond the whistle: From cross country to mental health

Looking towards the crowd, junior Madden Christensen walks to the band for the alma mater. The game ended in a 30-31 score, with the Eagles taking their first loss of the season. The Eagles will next take on Princeton High School at 7 p.m.

Prosper football hangs on until final whistle

As they run ahead of the group, senior Mikey McCart and junior Jacob Nally keep in stride with each other. The District 6-6A meet was on Oct. 10 at 8 a.m. It was hosted by Rock Hill at Myers Park, McKinney.

Senior rebounds from injury to pursue state goal

Practicing his passes, senior Jason Miller Jr. throws the ball towards a teammate. Miller is a cornerback and wide receiver for the varsity football team. The Prosper football team is one of the few undefeated schools in Texas with 6 wins overall.

Eagles take home win before four-day weekend

Hand on their shoulder, junior Bayley Smith hugs her family member after the race. Smith has run all three years of high school and says she wants to pursue the sport in college. "I just felt really happy with my time," Smith said. "I thought I did pretty good for my team, or as best as I could, and I'm just happy we can go to regionals."

Cross country competes at District 6-6A, moves on to region championship

Jumping in the air, junior Sofia Winter grabs the ball from her opponents hand. On Friday, the team played against McKinney Boyd, ultimately being defeated 3-1. The Eagles were coming off of a recent win against Princeton the week before.

Varsity volleyball loses against McKinney Boyd after previous win

Preparing to face off, the Eagles and Blue Hawks get set on the field. The game started at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, and Prosper fans sat on the visitor side for the match as Rock Hill was the home team. The Eagles came out victorious, winning 72-6.

Prosper defeats Rock Hill 72-6

Swaying left to right, the student section celebrates after Prosper got a kill on Allen. Even though the stands aren't always full, the student groups who do come, cheer on the Lady Eagles with laughter, shouts and chants. The current varsity win-loss record is 14-14.

As she uses her strength on the course, she reaches for the next bar. Sophomore Zuri Harrison practices for her athletic journey. Harrison will be competing in American Junior Ninja Warrior this year. Previously, she competed in the eighth qualifying episode of American Junior Ninja Warrior for season three.

Following his 50-yard freestyle race, junior Lane White receives feedback from head coach Trey Sullivan. White placed first in the 50-yard boys freestyle event. "He was yelling at me because I breathed every stroke," White said. "I still won, but he said I could've gone way faster."

After the meet, the swim team gathers in the weight room to receive awards from head coach Trey Sullivan. Only two of these team awards are given out at each meet.
