The Eagles baseball team will start the 2026 season next Thursday, Feb. 19, against Midway Waco. This tournament will take place in Austin, and will consist of six games.
Following the tournament, Prosper will host the annual Five-Tool Baseball tournament Feb. 26. The entire series of games will be played on the home field.
“We are really looking forward to seeing our guys get back out on the diamond and seeing them compete against the best in the state,” coach Brendan Clary said. “As a program, we are excited to build on last year successful playoff run and as a staff we are looking to see continued growth from all players within the program. Next up for all teams will be three weeks of tournaments, starting with the Varsity traveling down to the Austin area, before we kick off district play on March 13 against McKinney Boyd over at their place.”
Five Tool Baseball
The tournament, hosted by Five Tool Baseball, will have 14 registered high school teams that play head-to-head over the course of three days.
Preparing for the district season, tournaments, such as the ones that Five Tool hosts. Those participating include Americas, Bixby, Conway, Deer Creek, Edmond Santa Fe, Flower Mound Marcus, Frenship, Magnolia Heights, Mater Dei, Prosper, Rock Hill, Rockwall, Rockwall Heath, and Southlake Carroll. Every team travels for its respective games, showcasing both strengths and weaknesses, looking to improve and sharpen their skills for future games.
“We are excited to go compete in the tournament in Austin and dominate,” junior Kes Davis, varsity second baseman, said. “When we get back from our tournament, our first district (game is against McKinney Boyd on March 13.”
2025 Season Rewind
The Eagles had winning 2025 season, making it to the third round of playoffs, taking their final seasonal loss to Midway High School, 4-2. Prosper wrapped up its season with a 33-10-1 overall record.
“Our team wants to build off of last year and continue growing as a team,” Davis said. “This year, we need to do the small things right and continue to get better throughout the season. We have put in a lot of hard work throughout the offseason and it will translate to our district games and tournaments.”Â
Ending District 6 in second place, the team had a successful 9-2 district record, with a .750 winning percentage.
“We have worked very hard in the offseason and hope for a great season,” first-baseman and pitcher, junior Finn Cove said. “Our main goal as a team is to make it to the state championship and win it. All our hard work and dedication will pay off at the end of the season.”
