After competing at their last regional contest of the season, the Prosper High School Talonettes finished 1st overall for the entire competition. The Talonettes got first place for all of their 12 routines. Their last competition is March 28 & 29 where they will compete at Nationals.

Crowding together, players on the varsity baseball team speak to each other in between innings. In this game, there were 14 innings since it was a scrimmage. "I've been playing baseball since 5th grade," varsity player (add grade) Alejandro 'AJ' Sanabria said. "I like how competitive it is."

As students cheer, the Prosper wrestling team gets recognized before they head off to the state meet. The team competed over the weekend. Senior Jack Ringger took first runner up in the state meet.

As she steps foot in the cold, photographer Ava Ruhter peaks outside to the ground covered in snow. No cars drive as everything remains silent. “When it snows, it absorbs sound which makes it even more quiet outside,” Ruhter said. “It looks like it should be Christmas morning.”

Running toward the ball, sophomore Ava Germany dribbles past her opponent. "It felt great to make it to state," Germany said. "The games leading up were all games that had people biting their nails. It came down to the last minute in every playoff game it felt like. I think the biggest challenge our team faced during state was confidence. Everyone believed in us to win we just had to believe in ourselves and even with the result we got I believe we could have been more confident."

As she reaches forward, junior Duhita Sharma prepares for her next move. PHS Swim and Dive celebrated seniors on Jan. 10. Senior night and the last home meet of the season was hosted at the PISD Natatorium at 4 p.m.

In the PHS arena, winter and spring sports will be introduced at "Meet the Eagles." Doors open at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 8, and will begin at 6 p.m. Athletes from the baseball, wrestling, track, powerlifting, softball, basketball, golf and soccer teams will be introduced.
