Katie Johnson, Entertainment Editor

Katie Johnson is a junior at Prosper High School and is the Entertainment Editor for Eagle Nation Online. She has an avid interest in filmmaking and plans to pursue a degree in film and media production at the University of Texas. She plans to become a director and work for A24 studios or open her own production company. In school she actively participates in Eagle Production Group, Eagle Nation Online, and PHS the Talon. Outside of school she enjoys shooting short films in her free time and making music.

The class of 2020 awaits the beginning of their 7 p.m. June 5 graduation ceremony in the Prosper ISD Children's Health Stadium. "Graduating is pretty scary, but I'm looking forward to it and I'm going to miss everyone," senior Karla Hernandez said. The class of 2020 may have not finished their final year in a traditional school building, but district administrators ensured that they would receive a graduation to remember.

Construction of the stadium and natatorium continues. Children's Health received the district's naming rights. the facility is set to open in August 2019. "There have been other stadiums in the state of Texas where they've partnered with someone, but that's really just a company putting their name on the building," assistant superintendent Greg Bradley said. "With Children's,  not only do we have a partner that impacts athletics, but everyone that uses that stadium and natatorium will be able to benefit."

Sophomore columnist Katie Johnson listens to the latest album from the band The 1975, which released today, Nov. 30. According to Johnson, "A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships" is worth purchasing, but she does let readers know some of the lyrics do carry explicit themes. "The album is worth buying as no other one is like it," Johnson said. "The euphoric, synthesized piano beats mixed with the complex metaphors of the lyrics take the listener to another world."

In an Eagle Time interview on Thursday, Aug. 30, Katie Johnson asks superintendent Dr. Drew Watkins to provide tips for students on how to avoid traffic issues. One of his tips included leaving earlier to get to school. “We’re at Capacity,” Dr. Watkins said. “I encourage students to start earlier. Give yourself adequate time, and everybody needs to assume people won’t always follow the traffic laws.”
