Edit: This story has been updated for schedule changes
After the varsity basketball team’s first two district games of the season, the Eagles are on a winning streak and are looking for a win against the Plano West Wolves Jan. 11, at 5:30 p.m. Currently, Prosper has an overall record of 18-3. Last year they finished the season 21-16. With their success so far, fans can have high hopes for a spot in the playoffs.
Senior Mondo Battle stands as a key player to look out for on the court, putting up 25 points in the win against McKinney Boyd Jan. 7. At 6′ 7″ he has the height advantage, and his signature shot is a heavily contested three-pointer.

Despite his 5’9″ height, junior captain Grant Shaw brings the heat to every game. Since freshman year, Shaw has played as a varsity point guard and continues to prove his spot on the team every year. Whether it’s defending or shooting, he goes to the basket when his team needs it.
Senior captain Ammon Allan packs the points and the hype. Scoring 11 points at the game against Boyd, he gives the team his all. After only two years on the team, Allan has shown to be a strong team player and a dedicated captain.

Their next opponent is Plano West, with an overall of 0-2 in district play and ranks 285 in Texas. They faced a 56-52 loss against McKinney. Even though most of their games end with a close score, their overall record stands at 8-11.
This season, the Eagles are ranked 34 in Texas and 150 nationally. The group has improved its chemistry with team dinners and intense practices. The team’s spirit is shown on-and-off the court with each player’s efforts.
Come watch the Eagles tonight go head-to-head against the Wolves in their third district game, which will be home in the arena.
