After the DECA district competition, the PCIS students gather and celebrate the state qualifiers. The district seven competition was hosted on Jan. 16 at the Irving Convention Center. The 58 students that qualified from PHS will compete at the state competition in Houston on Feb. 17.

As she reaches forward, junior Duhita Sharma prepares for her next move. PHS Swim and Dive celebrated seniors on Jan. 10. Senior night and the last home meet of the season was hosted at the PISD Natatorium at 4 p.m.

In the PHS arena, winter and spring sports will be introduced at Meet the Eagles. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 8, and will begin at 6 p.m. Athletes from the baseball, wrestling, track, powerlifting, softball, basketball, golf and soccer teams will be introduced.

At the Prosper vs. Rockhill game on Jan. 2, head basketball coach Scott Imes performs a speech on sophomore and teammate Jaxson Little. Little is fighting leukemia, and Prosper has supported him with the hashtag #LittleStrong. The first 100 people at the Varsity Girls basketball game, and  the first 150 people at the Varsity Boys basketball game got a #LittleStrong shirt.

In the Nest, senior Kaylyn Chung puts together Legos. There is a competition between the PISD high schools to donate toys to children for the holidays. The school of the most amount of Lego hearts built on their Lego wall will win.

During the PHS volleyball game against Rockhill, head coach Ashlee McCormick directs a player. She was named Dallas- Forth-Worth All-Area Coach of the Year. She won this award alongside her player and senior Ayden Ames who was named DFW All-Area MVP of the Year.

In the PHS gym, senior Courtney Reed gets ready to donate blood. Carter Blood Care works with the HOSA organization to host a blood drive for students today, Nov. 27. Seniors can get an honor cord for graduation if they donate twice – once in the first semester and once in the second semester. There will be another opportunity for 16-year-olds (with a parent-signed form) and 17-year-olds (and older) to donate in the spring. Every blood drive we do saves so many lives, HOSA sponsor and health sciences teacher Kelli Factor said. As you know, there is a massive shortage of blood available, so this really does make a difference for our community. Every pint collected can save up to three lives.

In the PHS arena, senior Ayden Ames commits to UT Austin for D1 Volleyball on Signing Day. Ames switched her commitment from University of Nebraska to UT. The PHS Volleyball team qualified for the UIL State tournament.

Holding a trophy, varsity volleyball seniors Allie Duits, Sydney Thornton, Ayden Ames, Taylor Gardner and Reese Renfrow celebrate winning the Area Champions title. The team will face Allen High School on Tuesday Nov. 7. Ames decommitted from Nebraska University and committed to University of Texas.

In front of the fire station sign, Prosper Police Department Chief Doug Kowalski, junior Christina Krasnova, senior Parker Reynolds, junior Isabel Multer, senior Riley McConnell, Fire Department Assistant Chief Shaw Eft and Fire Department Chief Stuart Blasingame finish off the training hosted at the Childrens Health Stadium. Reporters from ENN and ENO got to attend the training for Prosper PD, FD, FBI, PISD and others. A slideshow and story will publish on the specifics of the mock event.

Holding up a five, the trumpet section of the band celebrates getting fifth place at UIL Area C. The top six competing bands advance to state. PHS Band has not qualified for the UIL State competition since 2018.
