Looking at one of her students as they speak, Delaney Alford sits next to freshman Saanvi Vipin during their Hope Squad period. During this class, the group played the game ‘imposter’ to bond. “I think Hope Squad is such a good class and such a good program to not only teach [mental health awareness] to the kids that are in the class, but also to push that out to any and everybody else,” Alford said. “What better way for people to hear about it than from their peers?”

Demonstrating a step on how to build a water barrel, Texas Water Resources Institute Program Specialist Dean Minchillo leads the Barrel Up workshop that was held at the Prosper library on Oct. 6. Rain barrels are used to capture rainwater for households to use towards watering gardens and rinsing tools. A raffle was held in which the winner got to take home a rain barrel that was made during the workshop.
Walking to the whistle, senior Abigael (Abby) Dodson moves alongside with her 'boot buddy'. The last district game took place on Nov. 6 with the theme being neon and senior night. "As a senior talonette it was a very bittersweet feeling having my last district game this season," Dodson said. "I had an amazing four years of Friday night lights. I am gonna miss dancing on the field with my team but I will take the memories with me forever."

"I know a lot off other schools don't have this class, but our school has it."

Adithri Raghuram, Arnav Bhute, Dylan Lyon, Emily Zhang, Janani Sridhar, Katie Lee, Kenna Boyd, Khyati Khanderao, Krish Hariharan, Lakshya Meiyappan, Meher Lahiri Gudipati, Murtaza Siddiqui, Om Gaddad and Tejas Paleti qualified for the Semifinalists due to their substantial scores during the PSAT/NMSQT test and are on their way to become finalists. Senior rebounds from injury to pursue state goal

Years into his career, Nichols finds the deepest satisfaction not just in the content, but in seeing his students suddenly grasp a complex idea. He teaches not only history but also economics, which often provides the most visible breakthroughs. "I think, you know, when I'm trying to think of a specific memory, I have so many," Nichols said. "But in the classroom, it's the aha moments, right? Lots of times, because I teach economics as well, students suddenly realize and get a concept, and then they connect that to their personal life. I think that's really exciting for me."

Leaning down to pick up trash, children participate in the interactive booth held at the Celebrate Prosper event on Oct. 4. This booth was called "Help Clean Our Waterways" and it is one of the many educational initiatives set up by Water Education Coordinator Lauren Kraus geared towards local residents. The next educational workshop is called "Turn Over a New Leaf: Kids Challenge!" where children will learn sustainable water habits in the Prosper library on Nov. 7 at 11 a.m.

Over the weekend, the Eagle Band competed in the UIL Area J competition which was ranked 4th in all areas of judging and received 4th place overall. In UIL Area J, only the top 4 advance to state.The band will at state to state on Nov. 2-4. The band's prelims performance was at 5:30 p.m.

Practicing his passes, senior Jason Miller Jr. throws the ball towards a teammate. Miller is a cornerback and wide receiver for the varsity football team. The Prosper football team is one of the few undefeated schools in Texas with 6 wins overall.
Hand on their shoulder, junior Bayley Smith hugs her family member after the race. Smith has run all three years of high school and says she wants to pursue the sport in college. "I just felt really happy with my time," Smith said. "I thought I did pretty good for my team, or as best as I could, and I'm just happy we can go to regionals."
Jumping in the air, junior Sofia Winter grabs the ball from her opponents hand. On Friday, the team played against McKinney Boyd, ultimately being defeated 3-1. The Eagles were coming off of a recent win against Princeton the week before.

Instead of focusing on just music theory and history, Music Production gives students a chance to learn about a genre or artist and then create their own version of that style. According to Thomas Greenlee, the class isn't just for students already involved in band, orchestra, or choir. It’s for any student who has an interest in making music. "I pictured that there are students at home on their own that are probably not in choir, not in band, not in orchestra, but they might be learning to play guitar on their own or they're just interested in music and they might be using some kind of software and making stuff," Greenlee said. "So I wanted to offer a class that could be open to anyone that's willing to learn and create music."
As students stand shoulder to shoulder, the senior section lifts their voices as they sing the alma mater. The pep rally took place during advisory period. This was the first pep rally of the year, allowing for every grade to come together and celebrate our school and our country.
Opinion
Made on Indesign, the graphic shows how AI technology is affecting students' academic ability by comparing it to a monster. According to a study conducted by the Digital Education Council, 86% of students use AI for their studies as of 2025. This was a global study that spanned across 16 countries.

Created in Canva by Social Media Director Victoria Byers, elements of Halloween are represented with ghosts, pumpkins, black cats and more. This episode of the Sound Spectrum was Halloween-themed, with the hosts discussing what songs are best suited for the holiday. Future episodes will include discussions about Daniel Caesar's "Son of Spergy" and Taylor Swift's "The Life of a Showgirl."
