The “Night on the Bayou” prom is just two weeks away on May 3, with it taking place at the Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center in Plano. With many different places to eat, take photos, and shop at the Legacy East Shopping District, there are ways to plan your prom this season.
Prom Information
Prom is taking place at the Marriott near the Legacy East Shopping Center and Bishop Park. The event is from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. and is hosted by Prosper High School’s student council. The event is open to juniors and seniors along with additional guests they may bring. If you are interested in bringing a non PHS guest, you must fill out a form. Ticket prices have now increased from $80 to $85 and can be purchased through the MySchoolBucks link. Tickets can be purchased until May 3.
The theme this year is “Night On The Bayou,” based on the 2009 movie “Princess and The Frog,” which takes places in a Louisiana bayou and features the characters Tiana, Naveen, Raymond the firefly and Louis the alligator. The theme colors for this prom are green, based on Tiana and Naveen’s colors, and blue, based on Tiana’s masquerade ball dress in the movie. While these are colors that go along with the theme, everyone is allowed to wear any color they wish.
With some places to shop throughout the nearby shopping district, students will be able to find a way to make the night start and end on a perfect note. There are multiple different options of places to shop to pass the time before prom, such as clothing stores. The shops at Legacy East offers a variety of places such as Urban Outfitters, Florist, Brandy Melville, Tina Stephens and much more to look at while exploring the district. If students are still looking for dresses and suits for prom, there are places around Prosper to shop before prom, such as Fashion Runway and Men’s Wearhouse at the Gates of Prosper.
There’s also a variety of restaurants to stop and grab something to eat before or after the big night. Legacy East has many options to choose from, such as Bobs’ Steak & Chop House, Brasao Brazilian Steak House, CRU Food & Wine Bar, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, La La Land Cafe and much more to get a taste from in the Legacy district.
Across from the event venue is Bishop Park, where many prom pictures are already being taken, so be prepared on photos if you’re going to any parks around the Legacy town area. There’s also other places around the area to take photos before prom.
Seniors also have the opportunity to vote for prom king and queen nominations until April 24. Afterwards, juniors and seniors will be able to vote for the final four nominations. Voting ends on May 2, and results will be announced at the dance.
Enjoy the night with the special people you bring, take photos, and most importantly collect special memories.
