As she steps foot in the cold, photographer Ava Ruhter peaks outside to the ground covered in snow. No cars drive as everything remains silent. “When it snows, it absorbs sound which makes it even more quiet outside,” Ruhter said. “It looks like it should be Christmas morning.”

Upcoming

  • Future Dual Credit students, Dual Credit Paperwork is due Jan. 31.
  • Seniors, start committing to colleges. You have 129 days left until graduation.
  • PHS will be offering TSI testing days in January and February. More information will be sent out soon.
  • The next meeting for Cardz for Kidz will be on Jan. 16. Meetings last from 4:25-5:25 p.m.
  • Join Mrs. Waggoner and friends for a Fabulous 5 day trip this June to beautiful Puerto Rico for kayaking, hiking, sightseeing and cool culture!! This trip is open to friends and family if you want to invite them to go with you. Scan the QR code for more information and feel free to reach out to Mrs. Waggoner in Portable 2!
  • PHS disciples is a student ran organization created for students to grow closer to Christ and connect with your peers. A meeting includes a speaker, Fellowship, and breakouts. The club meets every Wednesday from 4-5 p.m. in room 1205.

Uplifting

  • Winter Break has passed! We hope students were able to relax and are now ready to work hard for the third nine weeks.
  • In the fourth and final round of the Texas All State Choir process, Senior Aiden Hansen earned a spot as 1st Chair Tenor 1 in the All State Mixed Choir. Hansen will represent PHS as he travels to San Antonio in February to sing in the All State Choir. If you see Aiden in the hall, be sure to congratulate him on this incredible accomplishment!
  • Next senior lunch is on Jan. 24.

Under the lights, Isaiah Johnson returns to one of Trisha Weyenberg's classes since he graduated in 2017. He lives in Kansas City for his job and travels around the country to speak in classrooms. Eagle Brief: Jan. 27 – 31
Smiling for a photo in the crowd, junior Madelyn Rutledge and Amelia Easley received their respective award and class ring. The ring ceremony began at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. "Coach Easley has encouraged my development in sports medicine alongside my academics," Madelyn Rutledge said. "She has motivated me to step out of my comfort zone and engage with people I do not know that well."
Eagle Brief: Jan. 7 – 10
Amid the Government classes, mayor David Bristol visits students at Prosper High School. Bristol answered questions asked by students and participated in a Q&A. He served in the military, where he flew F-111Fs and F-15Es.
Eagle Brief: Dec. 16 – 20
Smiling for the camera, the Varsity Debate Team strikes a pose. This past weekend, they traveled to Austin for the Annual Longhorn Classic competition. This includes senior Avery Parker, senior Muhammed Nije, junior Hassan Sarfaraz, senior Mahnoor Waqas, senior Mara Moral, and junior Tanish Chauhan.

Senior Sofia Ayala leads Eagle Nation Online as Editor-in-Chief. This is her fourth year working for Eagle Nation Online. She served as Assistant Editor for Eagle Nation Times and served as the Feature Editor in the past. Sofia is part of the varsity PHS Talonettes drill team where she enjoys dancing with her team. Ava Ruhter, Reporter
This is freshman Ava Ruhter's first year on the newspaper. She is from Frisco, Texas. She plays flute in the Prosper High School marching band, which takes up most of her time. Outside of school she likes going on walks or runs and mountain biking. Since she was little, she wanted to study to be a veterinarian at Texas A&M University, but wants to be a photographer as a side job.
