A multitude of groups here at Prosper High School, including sports and academics, will have their group photos taken tomorrow, Friday for the 2025-26 yearbook.
According to Yearbook Adviser Hannah Potter, group photos will take place in the auditorium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event was rescheduled following last week’s inclement weather which caused the cancellation of the original group photo dates.
“Students can expect to show up five minutes before their arrival time to be organized on stage for their group photo,” Potter said. “They will write their names down in the order of the rows that they were in for the photo, and then they can leave.”
The groups and organization that will have their pictures taken include the following: Mu Alpha Theta, National Art Honor Society (NAHS), Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Club America, Speech & Debate, Aware and Prepared Club, Anchor Club, Eagle Production Group, SkillsUSA, Student Council, Spanish Honor Society, Badminton and Chinese Club.
“I’m so grateful that the yearbook staff found a way to get the group photos rescheduled before their final deadline,” English teacher and newspaper adviser Lisa Roskens said. “The unexpected four snow days could have really kept a lot of groups from getting the coverage they had hoped to get.”
Student Ambassadors, Discover Italy, HOSA, Catholic Students Association, Pokemon Club, STEMbound, Unified Track, Color Guard, Winter Guard, UIL, Eagle Nation Online, Eagle Nation Times, PHS Disciples and Prosper FFA will have their photos taken as well.
“We will be working off the honor system, which means no Minga passes because of the large number of groups with large numbers of students,” Potter said. “They’ll get their picture taken for their clubs, and sponsors are responsible for emailing out which time they will be having their picture taken.”
Additional groups that will have their photos taken will be the AI Club, CS Club, Theater, Cardz for Kidz, National Honor Society (NHS), DECA, Wharton, Business Healthcare Association (BHA), Tutor Deck, Archery, Club Elevate, Carrom Club, ACE Club and Lives In Light Club.
“Students will be writing their names down to show who they are and identify themselves in the photo in the correct order so that when you look back at your yearbook, you can see who was who,” Potter said. “Hopefully, you’ll have your yearbook for a really long time and you’ll be able to know who your friends and students were in your grade and be able to identify them easily instead of having to look for them.”
Yearbook students will be able to assist Potter in the group photos because of the large amount of students required to be organized in specific ways. Student assistants include the following: senior Isabella Rodriguez, juniors Carley Richey, Sofia Viteri and Jai Vadav, and sophomores Alexander Gutierrez, Ella Wingate, Sarah Jouce Santhosh David and Bhavagnya Atkuri.
“I’m excited because I get to help manage the chaos,” student assistant, sophomore Ella Wingate said. “I get to help organize and make it easier for my teacher and make it easier for the photographers. It’s something I’m excited about.”
