
A winter storm warning is expected this evening through Sunday, Jan. 25, bringing an estimated 1-3 inches of snow. Extreme cold warnings will come into effect on Jan. 24 – 26.
“I’m thrilled to finally see snow as it provides endless opportunities for having fun,” sophomore Amelia Proctor said. “This upcoming snowy weekend, I’m especially excited to be able to spend time with friends, be with my sister and play with my dogs in the snow.”
After school events will be cancelled today, Jan. 23 and over the weekend to accommodate for the anticipated inclement weather.
“My family and I are going sledding together,” sophomore Kate Ramsey said. “I can’t wait to spend time in the snow.”
Cold rain around 45-47 degrees Fahrenheit will begin this morning and will slowly shift to temperatures in the mid-30s.
“I’m super excited about the snow, but I’m not excited about being stuck in my house all weekend,” freshman Emma Noll said. “I love going out in the snow with my friends on my street.”

Temperatures will drop below the expected average this time of the year across the Eastern half of the United States.
“I checked out four books yesterday from (The Nest), so I’ve got my analogue reading in case I can’t get on the internet,” librarian Stephanie Riley said. “I’m excited for that part. I’m going to do so much reading.”
The storms are expected to stop before noon Sunday, Jan 25, with cloudy skies and wind around 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
“I am going to make snow angels and, if we get enough, I might make a snowman and dress it up,” sophomore Kayla Sarai said. “I am so excited because it is the perfect time to drink hot chocolate by the fireplace.”
