The “Not our First Rodeo” themed homecoming dance is only one week away on Sept. 27, with it set to take place at the Prosper High cafeteria. With so many different dress options, places to eat and photos to take, this has become a traditional, featured event for students.
Before the dance, the homecoming parade will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24. This an annual event takes place near the school and other nearby neighborhoods. Students can expect to see many different floats including the Talonettes, PHS choir and various sports teams.
Anyone is welcome to cheer on our students, and families can anticipate candy and other treats to be handed out.
In addition, Student Council will decorate the entire school with posters, giant mums, and more, all to get students in the school spirit.

“To prepare for HOCO, we are decorating our school with our tradition of putting balloons on the stairs,” STUCO Vice President Sreenithi Babu Meiyappan said. “We can’t wait to see everyone go all out dressing up and at the dance.”
The dance will be from 7-11 p.m. with tickets selling for $30 each. Tickets can be purchased here. For students who want to bring a non-PHS guest, the link to request is here. Make sure to complete this before Sept. 24.

Prior to the dance, there are lots of different and exciting activities for PHS students to do, bringing the homecoming spirit a little early to our school.
“I am most excited about the game because each year it’s very fun,” Student Council Treasurer Sosanna Jacob said. “The spirit that STUCO can provide to those games bring such joy.”
Remember to have fun, enjoy the night and make lifelong memories.
“I’m more excited this year than last because planning was not as stressful as last year since I’m not going with a big group.” senior Nishitha Devi Jayagobi said. “I am making a mum and having fun with friends.”
