Prosper ISD class of 2026 will graduate on May 21-23 at Children’s Health Stadium.
“Graduation is amazing,” Principal Paige Trujillo said. “(The best part is) just seeing all the seniors walk across the stage, like, I’ve known these kids now since they were freshman, and so it’s really fun to be able to see them get to that huge landmark and graduate.”
The proceedings will kick off with Prosper High School on Thursday, May 21 at 9 a.m., followed by Rock Hill HS at 7:30 p.m.
“The whole atmosphere is really cool, and like, the venue is really cool, the way that they do it is really cool,” geometry teacher Caleb Senbayrak said. “Everything is awesome about it; nothing but positives from this experience.”
On Friday, May 22, Richland HS seniors graduate at 9 a.m., with Walnut Grove HS at 7:20 p.m.
“I’m excited for the choices and adventures I’ll get after graduation,” senior Violet Ringger said. “I’m also excited for all my friends and family to celebrate my 13 years of school with a grad. party.”
All the events will take place at Children’s Health Stadium.
“My favorite part was I was always right on the edge seat in the aisle and took really bad pictures of my friends,” AP World History teacher Lauren Angle said. “For graduation itself, I think it’s a key memory maker.”
Caps and gowns are for sale for Prosper HS, Rock Hill HS, Walnut Grove HS, and Richland HS.
“It’s just happening so fast,” senior Jude Greaves said. “I’ll miss cross country and my team.”
Prosper HS has the biggest Class of 2026 in Prosper ISD, consisting of 753 seniors.
“We do graduation really well,” Assistant Principal Jonathan Nash said. “Graduation is one of the fun times because getting to shake the hands of all the students that are walking across the stage is one of the things I love.”
In the event of bad weather, Saturday, May 23, has been nominated as the make-up date.
“I’m very excited [for graduation], but it’s also kind of bitter sweet because I have grown so accustomed to my high school day to day life,” senior Isabella Rodriquez said. “The idea of leaving all my friends behind and starting this new chapter on my life is simultaneously exciting, but also nerve racking.”
