Prosper parties in pink at pep rally
The student body gathered Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. with guests for the “Pink-Out Pep Rally.” The “Breast Cancer Awareness” campaign uses October to get bring awareness to the realities of breast cancer and to honor the survivors of this disease. According to statistics from the National Breast Cancer Foundation, “one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lives.” Prior to the pep rally, the fourth-and fifth -graders had one of their own. Breast cancer survivors were in attendance at both events. During the pep rally, in addition to preparing to cheer on the volleyball and football teams, the cross country teams were recognized for competing that day, and the girls’ team took applause for earning Prosper’s first 6A district title.
