At a concert, fans Knox Miller, Joel Von Tress and Luke Wineteer rock out to a song by Laredo Two. “I was introduced to Laredo Two by my friend,” fan Lukas Sherman said. “I was blown away by the community they bring to every concert.”

With the stage behind them, the members of Laredo Two smile for the camera. “I can safely say My Chemical Romance is the biggest common inspiration between the three of us,” singer Tyler Ross said. “I have them to thank for my constant drive to want to be in a band and to make music.” (Gracie Archibeque)

From messing around in Ben Polanco’s garage, to taking over the local band scene in DFW, bassist Harry Murph, drummer Polanco and lead singer as well as guitarist Tyler Ross formed Laredo Two, a band inspired by 90s indie rock.

Laredo Two have been together since 2018 and will be performing at an upcoming show on Sep. 24, 2022 for “Thrash Night” in Flower Mound.

The band started out by writing music and practicing in Polanco’s garage. Soon after, they promoted their music on Facebook; offering pop-up shows in driveways, yards, and porches. They soon were booked in such high capacity, and played more than five shows a day. In 2019, their debut album “Free Time” was released to the public.

Ross said he and the other bandmates always bonded over similar musical inspirations, including My Chemical Romance and Smashing Pumpkins.

I can safely say My Chemical Romance is the biggest common inspiration between the three of us,” Ross said. “I have them to thank for my constant drive to want to be in a band and to make music.”

Laredo Two has a constant growing fanbase, whether it be viewers on YouTube, monthly listeners on Spotify or fan attendance at live shows.

The band hopes to achieve a “big sonic statement” with their new EP, “Poison,” set to release on Aug. 27, 2022.

Making a big sonic statement and familiarizing people with what we really sound like was super big focus,” Ross said. “We’re more passionate about the songs and message of the new stuff than anything we’ve ever done, and I’m very excited to have a full thematically cohesive work out there.”

Fans who have attended their concerts notice their unique charisma and developed sound.

“They have such an obvious chemistry with each other and their energy on stage is so infectious and fun,” Zack Rogers said. They always know how to have a good time and put on a great show.”

The band anticipates their new releases, and hopes for fans to enjoy the songs as much as they do.

This has been well over a year in the making,” Ross said. “And you can look forward to more flourishy riffage, rhythm switches, and our most emotionally relevant work yet. We’re very excited to roll this stuff out.”
