Eagle Update

The homecoming parade is postponed until Nov. 18 due to an increase in district COVID-19 cases.
The varsity football team is quarantined for the next two weeks, and the game against DeSoto Oct. 9 is canceled.
Cockrell Elementary School is closed due to the number of COVID-19 cases on the campus. Learning will continue virtually for students Oct. 5. Superintendent Dr. Holly Ferguson said they plan to reopen in-person instruction Oct. 13.
To keep track of the number of PISD COVID-19 cases, the dashboard explains the total number of students and faculty and the number of COVID-19 cases in the district.
PISD students and faculty should answer the daily COVID-19 screening questions before they attend in-person learning.

The Talon Radio will air Halloween stories on their station for the month of October
The homecoming election is this week, and students can vote here.
Tennis competed against Allen High School, and lost 2-17 Oct. 6
Volleyball won 3-0 against Allen High School Oct. 6
The swim team won overall against Rock Hill and Lovejoy. Check out the slideshow here
PISD is upgrading the internet at 8 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 7, the upgrade will last 4 hours and affect services like Google Classroom and Google Drive.

Prosper theatre will perform their first virtual production of “Almost, Maine” on Oct. 8, 9 and 10. Go to the Prosper Theatre website for tickets and more information.
The end of the nine weeks is Oct. 9.
There is no school Monday, Oct. 12.

Grace Williamson is the 2020-2021 Editor-in-Chief of Eagle Nation Online. This is her third year on the school newspaper, and she was previously the 2019-2020 sports editor. Following graduation, she plans to major in criminal justice at a currently undecided college.
