Paige Ruder is a senior at Prosper High School and a reporter for Eagle Nation Online. She has lived in Prosper with her parents since her sophomore year and will attend UT Austin, where she will pursue a degree in either political communications or public relations. In the future, Paige hopes to become a speech writer or a PR specialist for a firm. She’s also single, so if you know any cute boys, let her know.

A health alert has been issued by the Collin County Health Care Services after a contagious person was reported shopping at the Kroger on Preston Road, making this the 12th confirmed case of measles in the state of Texas this year. This is the second case for Collin County, with the first case involving a man who had traveled internationally. This photo was taken Monday, March 18, the day the outbreak was announced.

Officer Steven Antommarchi and his K-9 partner Kaz visit the ENO newsroom on March 5 to educate the staff on the police force's efforts to keep drugs off campus. In the attached editorial, staff writer Paige Ruder asserts the school should consider updating its current policy concerning the drug-testing of students. "The argument to be had against the current state of drug testing at Prosper is not about whether or not it’s necessary. It is absolutely necessary, and the police officers at the school have done a great job at keeping the school safe from drugs," Ruder said. "But, the issue lies within the misunderstanding and confusion that surrounds the specifics of drug testing."

Senior columnist Paige Ruder's donation papers cover her desk after she gave blood during the drive that the Health Occupations Student Association sponsored on Monday, Nov. 26. HOSA results show 204 donors gave 226 total units. "It’s estimated that just one donation can potentially save up to three lives," Ruder said. "That’s 678 lives saved. For perspective, that’s the entire senior class here at Prosper."
