The Talon Radio
 

The Talon plays a mixture of the “top rock songs of all time,” brought to you by student journalists of the Radio/Digital Audio Technology I & II classes. According to adviser Michael Hatch, the students deliver their expertise with music research, music testing, formatting, (re)branding, studying the competition, broadcast software, music programming, imaging (the stuff you hear between the music), copywriting, digital production, social media, and promotions. The station stays on air 24/7/365.

The "Terrifying Talon Tales" await Halloween listeners for replay at the attached links for today, Oct. 31. "The Talon Radio" team has been airing these dramas, which were written and produced by the students in the course, all week on the school's 24-hour station in honor of the Halloween holiday. The class is advised by Mike Hatch, aka @radiodjhatch on Twitter.

"It used to be that we would write our show on Monday, record our show on Wednesdays, then produce it on Friday and put it out," Caden Long said. "but this year it’s mostly just editing and imaging.”

The Talon radio goes on air this semester. It is live 24 hours in a day, seven days in a week, every week of the year. "The incredibly talented students of the Radio/Digital Audio Technology I & II class have created an internet radio station quite literally from the ground up," Michal Hatch says. "There's a little bit of something for everyone."
