The Talon radio station goes on air

The Talon radio goes on air this semester. It is live 24 hours in a day, seven days in a week, every week of the year. “The incredibly talented students of the Radio/Digital Audio Technology I & II class have created an internet radio station quite literally from the ground up,” Michal Hatch says. “There’s a little bit of something for everyone.”

PHS The Talon: Only The Top Rock Songs Of All Time! 📻
The incredibly talented students of the Radio/Digital Audio Technology I & II class have created an internet radio station quite literally from the ground up: music research, music testing, formatting, (re)branding, studying the competition, broadcast software, music programming, imaging (the stuff you hear between the music), copywriting, digital production, social media, promotions…EVERYTHING!  And they’re ready for you to enjoy their hard work.
There’s a little bit of something for everyone, too: 24/7/365.  You’ll hear a lot of The Beatles, Billy Joel, Bob Seger, The Cars, Def Leppard, Duran Duran, The Eagles, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Guns N’ Roses, Journey, Led Zeppelin, The Police, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, U2 and Van Halen.  If you’re into terrestrial radio, think of a mixture of Lone Star 92.5, 98.7 KLUV and 100.3 Jack FM.  Compared to satellite radio: ’60s on 6, ’70s on 7, ’80s on 8, ’90s on 9, Classic Rewind, Classic Vinyl, The Bridge, 1st Wave and Lithium.

  • Download and install the StreamItAll app.
  • Open the app.
  • Tap on the three lines in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
  • Tap on “Manually add station” (to the right of the music note).
  • Under “RADIO STATION NAME”, type in “PHS The Talon”.

  • Leave “64 kbps or don’t know” as is
  • Tap on “done” in the lower right-hand corner of the screen
