Just before eating lunch, PCIS 1 student senior Muhammed Njie listens to a speaker during the PCIS symposium at the National Toyota Headquarters. This year, Prosper High School offered PCIS 1 and PCIS 2 for returning seniors. The program is meant to help students improve their networking and interpersonal skills.

As civil conflicts in Syria worsen and aerial drones are being spotted in New Jersey, juniors Trisha Panicker and Aarushi Rana discuss potential implications and their perspectives. "Starting off strong with the Middle East where instability has shaken the region after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime," Aarushi said. "Rebel forces, including the designated terrorist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, now control significant areas."
Focused on students, Mayor David Bristol and Prosper ISD school board vice president Dena Dixon showcase their duties to the government classes. The students learned about the obstacles faced in the town council, and got more insight to Bristol's job. "The town facilities, the municipal services that we have, this is not normal," Bristol said. "People come to this area. In the last five years, a lot of you guys moved here for the school district, specifically.  Your parents brought you here so you can go to the ISD. That is not the same. There are not people clamoring to go to some of this districts to the south of us. So, we have something unique and special here, and I want to continue that."
Lifestyles
Playing a crucial role in the logistics of Civic Leaders of America, Texas Chief of Staff senior Mara Gonzalez Moral addresses the room with confidence. CLA is an entirely student-led organization with the mission of fostering civic engagement among high schoolers through regular debates, local conventions, information about current events, activism and volunteering opportunities. "Being a part of CLA has truly been the most rewarding activity of my high school years," Moral said. "I hope that if you join as well, you will find that you experience can be just as incredible."

Waiting to check donators in, HOSA members work the blood drive they hosted before Thanksgiving break. The blood drive was located in Gym 1 and took place Nov. 21. "(The blood drive) allows people to donate blood for those who really need it, and so it's a really great thing that so many people come out and donate blood in order to help others," senior HOSA member Lily Lopez said. "It is really crucial for them."

Rooted in the ground, students team up to plant the Prosper Moon Tree. The Moon Tree was planted on Nov. 15. "Building the tree from NASA is very inspiring," sophomore Brody Ham said. "It opens our minds to how life is."

After school, freshman Michelle Ayala interviews junior Elizabeth "Betty" Gacek. At just 17 years old, Gacek has already accomplished balancing her academics with having fluency in eight languages as well as overcoming a series of challenges with her dyslexia. Her life is split between two distinct countries and cultures. She spends her summers in Poland for schooling and the rest of her time in Texas. “In Poland, the culture is more serious," Gacek said. "If you smile, it can be perceived as being dumb or creepy. In Texas, it’s a more casual and friendly atmosphere where smiling and casual interactions are common.”

Canadian chocolate manufacturer Chewters Chocolates is making its mark in Texas with the construction of a $20.5 million production facility in Rockwall. Known for its organic, low-sugar ChocoXO brand, the company aims to bolster its presence in the U.S. market while continuing its mission to offer indulgent yet healthier chocolate options. Students like freshman Avani Raghuwanshi believe the company will be successful in North Texas. "People love chocolate, especially younger kids and teens" Raghuwanshi said. Ready for questions, HOSA's information table about the blood drive stands organized outside of the cafeteria during lunch. The table will be out two weeks prior to the event. "During lunches, like any lunch you have, you just go up to that table and then they'll give you more information," said sophomore Maryam Alshawi, HOSA member. "And you can make an appointment."

Performing as one, the Rock Hill Band plays in place of the Mighty Eagle Band on October 4th at Children's Health Stadium. The Rock Hill Pep Band will play stand tunes for the Prosper playoff game tonight. “Even with our friendly competition that all three schools have, we still want to make a clear message that all of Prosper ISD is still one,” Rock Hill drum major senior Maxwell Lee said. “Also, we understand the importance of Grand Nationals as a competition for the PHS band, so we want to support their trip and we wish them the best of luck.”

Feet on the free-throw line, junior J'Den Shields gets ready to take a shot. Shields hit 1,000 career points during the teams' game against Frisco Memorial on Nov. 19. In that non-district match-up, Shields contributed 37 points to the Eagles' 85-72 win.
Ball tucked, senior Leo Anguiano rushes for a first down. Prosper is undefeated in district and ranks 19th in the state of Texas. "Fridays game was definitely a tough one," Anguiano said. "I’m mostly proud of the way we handled adversity as a team. We showed that we don’t back down from a fight. In close games we’ll find a way to win and that’s gonna come in handy this week against Allen."
Standing in green Malcom Hill continues his passion for football as a coach. This marks his second year working for Prosper High School. "I kind of fell in love with the sport in middle school," Hill said. "Played it throughout high school and up until college.”

Outside of the MPF, cars line up in the parking lot to escape the rain. Traffic was formed due to the traffic patterns and the number of cars in the parking lot. An announcement for upperclassmen to leave early was made in an attempt to prevent traffic, but traffic formed regardless.
Opinion
As the holiday season begins this December, we set out to review the best seasonal local drinks around. We visited Starbucks, 1418, Dutch Bros, and Summer Moon to rate their festive offerings and see which cafe does the holidays best.
The 2024 film "Bonhoeffer. Pastor. Spy. Assassin" is the about the ministry and life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The film was released on Nov. 22. The genre of this movie is a historical drama thriller.

As the conflicts in the Middle East continue to intensify and bad weather is predicted for Thanksgiving week, juniors Trisha Panicker and Aarushi Rana discuss different perspectives of current events. "Now, moving onto Thanksgiving because that's coming up in less than a week," Trisha said. "Are you guys excited for it?"
