The Prosper Christmas Festival is a yearly tradition that the town of Prosper hosts. This year, it was Saturday, Dec. 6, from 3 p.m.to 7 p.m. at Prosper Town Hall. The event featured many special activities like Santa’s workshop, Santa’s selfie station, cookie decorating, two kid zones, community tree lighting, food vendors, drone show and, new this year, free ice skating. It also offered live music and local performances to entertain attendees.
Sorting the cinnamon rolls, owner of Swirled Star Delights, Theshia Geitz, prepares for customers. This bakery, which has been in business since 2024, set up a pop up store in the Prosper Christmas Festival. "So, this is my first time at this festival," Geitz said. "But, I do local markets. I do the Prosper farmers markets, the Celina market (and) other ones around. I like trying to find different events to share my products locally, and this is a popular event, so I'm excited to be here, and we’ve sold half of our stuff so far."
