Making her way down the field, senior Alivia Spangler looks forward. Spangler will advance to state, and will compete tomorrow, Nov. 1. In the podcast, hosts Michelle Ayala and Elise Leavitt sit down with Spangler to discuss her athletic journey.

In the first episode of “A day in the life of an Eagle,” senior, cross country runner Alivia Spangler joins ENO to talk about her experiences and goals for state. With no cuts, Sports Editor Michelle Ayala and reporter Elise Leavitt talk about Spangler’s daily routine from breakfast, to practice, and even to being a student athlete.

She shares her goals for the school year and looks forward to running in college. Spangler is to compete in the race this Saturday, Nov. 1, and she is excited to see where the match and sport leads her in the near future.

Overall, the album was rated a seven on the 'sound spectrum' scale.

Senior and Host Victoria Byers, junior Co-Host Ethan Chatelain, and junior guest Kate Duncan talk about Laufey's newest album “A Matter of Time”. This is season 2, episode 1 of the Sound Spectrum Podcast. "I really liked Laufey's third studio album because it felt more raw than the last one," Duncan said. "It really felt like a fairytale."

Looking at one of her students as they speak, Delaney Alford sits next to freshman Saanvi Vipin during their Hope Squad period. During this class, the group played the game ‘imposter’ to bond. “I think Hope Squad is such a good class and such a good program to not only teach [mental health awareness] to the kids that are in the class, but also to push that out to any and everybody else,” Alford said. “What better way for people to hear about it than from their peers?”

Demonstrating a step on how to build a water barrel, Texas Water Resources Institute Program Specialist Dean Minchillo leads the Barrel Up workshop that was held at the Prosper library on Oct. 6. Rain barrels are used to capture rainwater for households to use towards watering gardens and rinsing tools. A raffle was held in which the winner got to take home a rain barrel that was made during the workshop.

As she prepares her materials for the day, Athletic secretary Tara McQuay gets organized at her desk. Sitting at her computer, she ensures that schedules, paperwork, and communications are ready for coaches and students. This essential preparation is key to the smooth operation of all daily athletic activities.

As she holds the flag, senior Lyla Kate Plasky spins in a slow circle. The band advances to state after receiving a perfect score of four in all categories they participated in. The band competes in prelims on Monday, Nov. 2.

Analyzing the measurement, seniors Aryan Kammili and Abyudh Mukkavilli look deeper into what the numbers show. Physics teacher John Mitchell had his class use their findings to answer an essential question written on the board. "It would be a great opportunity to take physics," senior Emily Zhang said. "I know a lot off other schools don't have this class, but our school has it."

Elise Leavitt is a sophomore at Prosper High School. This is her first year on ENO staff, and she is excited to take the role of a reporter. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, baking for others and hanging out with her friends. She looks forward to her first year on ENO and improving her photography and journalism skills. She wants to learn more about writing through working for Eagle Nation Online.

Michelle Ayala leads the sports section as the sports editor. This is her second year working for Eagle Nation online. As a sophomore at Prosper High School and originally from Frisco, Texas, she enjoys playing golf and pickleball, working out, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. She has earned the best of SNO for her feature article, “Senior overcomes injury, dives in to help water polo team,” and looks forward to improving her photography and writing skills while covering the athletes and games.

For her second year on the Eagle Nation Online staff, sophmore Polly Greaves directs the news section as news editor. When she’s not in the goal for varsity or junior varsity water polo, she spends her time writing a new novel, playing the piano, and capturing moments on her camera. Polly looks forward to recording more episodes of her podcast, The Story Guide, and improving her photography skills throughout this year.
