The Prosper Eagles and McKinney Boyd will face off today, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. at the McKinney Boyd Stadium for their annual district matchup.
Last year, Prosper defeated McKinney Boyd 55-17 at home, controlling the game from start to finish. Prosper went on to finish the 2024-25 season with an 8-3 record, showing they can compete at the top of the district.

“I felt really good about our execution last year against Boyd,” Head Coach Tyler Moore said. “We shored up our defense quickly after the first drive of the game and were able to execute at a high level on both sides of the ball.”
Last week, the Prosper Eagles won against Rockwall-Heath High School 45-27. Prior to defeating Rockwall-Heath, the Prosper Eagles continued their win streak. The Eagles have shown consistent offensive firepower and solid defense, which they said they intend to carry into Friday’s game.

“I was extremely proud of the physicality and resilience of our defense last week,” Moore said. “They competed extremely well the entire game and found a way to get stops against a good Heath offense. Offensively we struggled to find our rhythm in the first half, but played a near perfect second half, [so] we have to find consistency on offense for an entire game.”
Both teams are expected to bring full effort on offense and defense, knowing that district matchups like this can define the season. McKinney Boyd, meanwhile, has struggled in recent seasons, but will look to bounce back in district play.
“It’s going to be a pretty easy game,” spirit leader, senior Gabriela Jones said. “We’re going to crush them with spirit and football, period.”
With Boyd eager to improve, and Prosper aiming to keep its winning streak going, the matchup is expected to be competitive. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Mckinney Boyd Stadium, with students and families expected to pack the stands for this district showdown.
“Our focus is on our mental preparation and our health,” Moore said. “If we can stay healthy and fresh, we have a chance to be very good this season.”
