Girls team scores 18-5, boys team earns 24-5 victory

Looking back at her team, junior Elsie Anderson races towards the ball. This was their first game after a huge win against Rock Hill High School on Sept. 2. “The game was super fun,” Anderson said. “It felt good to have so many teachers that helped me grow academically, see me grow as an athlete as well.”

The Varsity girls and boys Eagles will play against Flower Mound High School today, Sept. 9, girls at 5:30 p.m. and boys at 7 p.m., at LISD Westside Aquatic Center.

Caps in the air, the class of 2026 celebrates their final moments as Prosper High School students. 755 students graduated this year. "It's kind of bittersweet," senior Jerrick Jeyasee Kamaraj Christopher said. "Yes, I'm excited to graduate, but I'm going to miss the community here at Prosper. But, there's so many new opportunities that are opening up, so I'm very excited to explore all of that."
Seniors celebrate 2026 graduation
The photos display aspects of senior Trisha Panicker's life, from journalism to debate to spending time with her friends. Panicker will be double majoring in politics and journalism in college. "I want to continue the work I was doing in Prosper, from covering locals to reporting on community events and traditions," Panicker said. "The joy and purpose that this gives me will hopefully motivate my future endeavors during my time in university."
Senior Column: How journalism changed my life
Sketching at a desk, Sapphire Vasquez works on a portrait. Sapphire Vasquez is a substitute teacher for art. "I've enjoyed (the different art) a lot because everybody has a different style, everybody wants different materials," Vasquez said. "They are creating things that they love on top of the things that they probably don't enjoy as much."

Looking ahead, assistant Jimmy Frideley takes a break from his work as he contemplates his next job, which means leaving Prosper High for the Richland High campus. Frideley has been an AP for the past three years and at PHS for six. He taught social studies and special education before becoming an assistant principal.
Assistant principal focuses career on student advocacy
In a collage of photos, senior Aarushi Rana showcases her highschool memories. Rana has been on the newspaper team for two years. "Journalism has my heart," Rana said. "I have made some of my best memories in this room."

Blue and red lights flashing, a fire truck leaves in the middle of the ceremony to respond to a nearby emergency. The alarm sounded and the ceiling monitors flashed, notifying firefighter paramedics who left instantly. Later, the fire truck came back and attendees pushed it back into the station as a tradition, symbolizing the final step of the ceremony.

Walking the track, student council officers lead the "Survivors Walk." Prosper High School hosts the Relay for Life fundraiser annually during the month of April. Over 10 clubs host stalls with fun activities for attendees.

Looking ahead, the PHS archery team stands posing for a picture. The team attended the State Competition in March, coming home with many personal bests. They will compete at Nationals in April.

Arms open, sophomore Polly Greaves stands in the ocean of Maui, Hawaii. She visited her grandma on a girls' trip with her mom and attended a luau. “The best part was the whales,” Greaves said. “From the beach, you could see them breaching. It was magical.”
Staffers take part in spring break activities
Huddling together before a mini game, freshmen Connor Chastain, Mason Yoo-Tritt and sophomore Andrew Hoye converse with the youth participants. All three are members of the JV baseball team. "I think the event went really well, it was a good turnout, and I think the kids had a good time and that's what it's all about," Cooper Duncan, junior, JV baseball team member said. "I'm most excited to get going, being around my teammates and having a good season."
Dugout Dudes event brings youth, high school players together
Walking around the stage, freshman Ariana Nasery holds the microphone with one hand and looks out to the crowd. Napery performed "Mr. Electric," according to the 2026 setlist. There were 12 solo performances out of the 20 total.

Standing in form, senior Olivia Crooks prepares to hit her target. "I think getting out of my head really improved my score," Crooks said. "Once you start competing with only yourself, you really improve your time."
Archers aim arrows toward national competition

The Prosper wrestling team competed in a recent meet with several members posting wins. Seniors Jaelyn Skelley, Lexie Rems, Tayla Skelley, Maddie Rutledge, and junior Sadie Hunter participated, coached by Mathies Long and Kevin Dibble. The team continues to prepare for upcoming matches this season.
Sports Brief: Girls wrestling team competes at state meet in Houston
Standing in a group, the Prosper Leady Eagles powerlifting team gathers in the PHS arena. Six lifters medaled at the event, with Dani Espinosa and Ayden Holman qualifying for the state meet. The team finished fifth overall and will return to compete at the state meet later this season.
Sports Brief: Girls powerlifting team breaks record
Last season, now senior Gustavo Nunez takes his turn at bat. Nunez committed to Grayson College to continue his baseball career. Gustavo is expected to start this season.
Preview: Prosper baseball swings into new season
Gathered together, the Eagle Powerlifters come back from a successful meet. The Prosper boys powerlifting team secured a first-place finish at the S&S Powerlifting Invitational this past Saturday. The team is now preparing for their next competition, scheduled for the following weekend on saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Grace Suzuki is a junior at Prosper High School. She likes video games and drawing, but primarily plays video games. This is her first year working as a graphic designer for the Eagle Nation team. She hopes that she can develop her visual design skills through Eagle Nation Online and Eagle Nation Times.

For her second year on the Eagle Nation Online staff, sophmore Polly Greaves directs the news section as news editor. When she’s not in the goal for varsity or junior varsity water polo, she spends her time writing a new novel, playing the piano, and capturing moments on her camera. Polly looks forward to recording more episodes of her podcast, The Story Guide, and improving her photography skills throughout this year.
