Robotics rundown

Juniors give insight on robotics preparation

Sitting around the podcast station, RoboTalons discuss their upcoming competition to New Mexico. This past weekend, the Prosper FRC Robotics teams 5411 RoboTalons traveled to Plano, TX to compete against 28 other teams. For the past nine weeks, the Talons worked through the entire engineering process to create an advanced control system from scratch.

In this exclusive episode, sophomore Gracie Patterson gives a rundown on the upcoming robotics competition. RoboTalons and juniors Aryan Kammilli, Roman Peralta and Abhi Mukkavili discuss their roles in the competition. The competition consists of 28 teams from Texas and New Mexico. For the past nine weeks, their team worked to collaborate and build different robots to compete and win. The RoboTalons also won their first ever award, the “Creativity Award” sponsored by Rockwell Automation. This episode dives into the preparation leading up to the competition. To read more about the competition and dates, reporter, senior Justin Wang, will be publishing an article covering extra information about the trip.

"Me and Heather Davis have advisory together, therefore, while I was reading this book, I got to look over at her now and then, and ask, 'why do you like this book so much?'" said Greaves. "And she just looked back at me like I was a complete weirdo and, you know, that just made my day."

"My favorite part of the movie is how unseriously it takes itself," Radcliffe said. "Although the acting isn't super convincing, the actors were clearly having a lot of fun with the movie."
'A Minecraft Movie' excites fans
With prom right around the corner, Student Council and students get ready for an unforgettable prom event at the Marriot. The theme this year is "A Night on the Bayou" inspired by Disney movie Princess and the Frog. Prom is set to be Saturday, May 3.

Award in hand, the robotics team celebrate their success at their district competition where they came on top. “This was our first district competition this year, and actaully the first time we ever won a district competition,” Lee said. “Beyond just our bot being successful and winning, seeing how much our team has evolved over the four years I’ve been on the team was amazing. It was incredible to witness not only our technical achievement but also our team’s growth.” With many of the seniors graduating the team hopes for similar success next year.
Prosper robotics secures district victory
Working on the final touches for their presentations, seniors Savanna Bleak and Devananda Anoop work on organizing names in folders. This is 2024-2025 PCIS final presentation for future careers. "It's very exciting for what we're doing since it's the last one," Anoop said. "It's also really nerve-racking as well getting prepared."

Gracie Patterson. This marks her 1st year in ENO as a sophomore. Along with the class, she hopes to collaborate with her classmates and work better by herself. Outside of school, she enjoys fashion and design. She likes to read and write and deeply wants to pursue photography/journalism once she gets to college. As she gets home and over the weekends, she likes to sleep, play video games, listen to music, and hang out with her brother, as well as go downtown with her mom and explore the different places of the world and the diversity of the people amongst her.

Senior Erica Deutsch leads the Multi-Media section of the newspaper. This is her third year working for Eagle Nation Online. She adores photography and hopes to create a positive impact with her writing and podcasts. She is excited to publish video packages and continue sharing the powerful stories of others. Outside of school, she enjoys playing guitar, watching movies, trying new baking recipes, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
