Students participate in HOSA blood drive

119 viable donors show up to ‘give the gift of life’

Hooked up to the machine that collects your blood, senior Nicole Rendon waits as her blood is drawn. The blood drive was hosted by HOSA where they partnered with Carter Blood Care. “Honestly, I’ve never (donated blood) before, and I wanted to try it, and plus you get a chord too if you donate twice,” Rendon said. “I was nervous at first, but honestly it wasn’t that bad.”

What’s Next? HOSA plans to host another blood drive in the spring and one at Student Council’s Race For The Cure event.

As they hit the final pose, the senior Talonettes perform the second dance of the day alongside the team. This marked the last contest of the season. The last performance for the Talonettes will be on April 24-26 in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m.

As world conflicts and natural disaster worsen, juniors Trisha Panicker and Aarushi Rana dissect the news events from Sept. 23 to Feb. 14 to help prepare competitors in the Current Events & Issues UIL event. The districts tournament is coming up on Saturday. "The world's tallest woman Rumeysa Gelgi meets the world's shortest, Jyoti Amge," said Rana. "I actually heard about this news on social media."

Freshman navigates drill team, Hope Squad, academics

Yesterday, sugar cookies prepared by culinary students were sold at all the lunches for two dollars. "I joined (Hope Squad) because it provides an opportunity to help other people," Christiansen said. "And just because it's being surrounded by other nice people."

As the fire crackles, senior Anisha Mandem sits with friends and family, making s'mores during the weekend at Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Mandem enjoys spring break before she walks the stage at graduation on May 22. "It was nice to spend some time in nature and take some time away from school," Mandem said. "It was bittersweet remembering that it was my last high school spring break."
Staff showcases spring break activities
Grouped together on the grass, seniors Celo Dishong and Ellie York come together for a photo. The unified team is led by Coach Wright. "My favorite thing about the Unified Track is the competition and how everyone gets hyped about it," York said. "We get to bond more with the kids, from just partners, you're kind of helping them, but this you get to participate too, and it's just a fun environment."

Varsity boys soccer takes home win 3–1 against Princeton
At the bat, senior Kaden Robardey prepares to hit the baseball. Robardey plays outfield and is No. 4 on the team. His pre-game ritual is chewing green or white gum, and his favorite athlete is Bryce Harper. The varsity team will play against Quinton Creek this Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Prosper High School Baseball field. The game will start at 3:30 p.m.
Varsity baseball starts season with scrimmage
Laughing with each other, sophomores Analia Bernal and Kenzie Orgeron walk towards the mat. They both have been on softball for 2 years. JV's next game will be on Feb. 11, 2025 against Wakeland Wolverines.

Sophomore Elizabeth Cohorn can be found dancing as a line member of the Prosper Talonettes Drill Team, completing her annual goal of reading 150 books, baking, and listening to music. This is her first year working on Eagle Nation Online as a reporter, and joined ENO because of her passion for writing. Her love for writing started in third grade with her first short story titled “Kindness Counts” and as a member of the staff, she is most excited about writing feature articles.

Sophomore Kate Duncan spends her free time creating, whether it’s a clay pot or a news article. Her passion for creativity led her to join the team, where she is excited to be able to bring new stories to light. This is her first year working on Eagle Nation Online as a reporter. When she isn’t in school, Kate enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and making collages in her journal.
